Heard PJ got a offer to stay at RU that is much more than our OC job pays. So PJ to NIU may not happen

Heard the same last night.
And my morning was going so well...
Well we may need to pony up some more $$$, and PJ needs to do what is best for his career. If he is a Head Coach after a year at NIU as OC, it will more than make up the difference in $$$.

They probably upped his salary in the $200,000-$250,000 range and there is no way we can pay our coordinators that much. It ok, Coach D I am sure has Plan B,C and D

Along the lines of what HMM is thinking- is there any indication RU would also be including a bump in his responsibilities to some sort of co-OC thing?

Otherwise more pay, same responsibilities vs. less pay, more responsibilities (and possibly more doors open sooner) is a tough life decision to make. Can't fault him for taking either path.

Maybe further proof that DD is a hell of a recruiter himself, I post hopefully.
Would think being an OC would get him closer to his stated goal of being a head coach, he'd be living comfortably either way, tough call.
Anybody know what NIU paid Matt Canada last year?

This is true!

All is well. There's no doubt Rutgers could pay him more, but becoming an OC with an inside track to a future head-coaching job is a far better career move than 3 or so more years as a WR coach in a coaching regime* that very likely won't stand the test of time.

*General consensus among people is Todd got the job basically in order to hold the recruiting class together, not because he was necessarily a great candidate himself... which seems like the type of thing that really blows up in your face.
Who's pride in the pack?
Good news.

So taking the info posted by 7 in the other PJ thread about what positions coaches were handling-

Friz is WR. The new ST guy is RB.
Presumably Kane flips to LB.

So then Cole goes to TE, PJ takes QBs?

That's the official football twitter.

It is likely the operations guy or one of the assistants.

They are definitely a member of the football staff.

Should probably send someone to 7's house.. make sure he's not taking the news too hard.
From Martel Moore's twitter: "Fleck is back and we working. New wide outs get ready cuz we aint fallin off a bit."
When will NIU issue an official Press Release? Should be out by now for the midday newscasts to pick it up.
