I'll guess 1,500+. The crowd will show if the fan base is starting to get excited.

There were 700 for the women's game vs. CMU for a week night game.

UT usually has a nice number of fans for men's and women's games.

It would be nice if another 100 - 150 students showed up (more than Wednesday night).
Dear emu steve,
I think you hit it right. I know we would all like to see greater attendance, and I think it will come as the team continues to win, or at least is competitive. I have argued with people at the Western and Central sites, who criticize Eastern's attendance, that it has to do with winning, and as a team does better the attendance will improve. They claim they have fan bases that don't diminish. Well, attendance at Central's last home game was 1,500. So much for those fans turning out to watch losing basketball, and I'm sure it will be the same at Western if they continue to play under .500.
i'll say 1,100. a bump because it's a weekend game, but still not enough momentum to motivate those who don't already have the hoops team on their radar.

We might get a few hundred up from Toledo.
I think it will be about 1500-1700. Optimistic, but the WMU drew 1008. This being a weekend game might help give it a bump.

I just hope we get to the point where students will bring other students and 100 students becomes 200 or 250.

Toledo could bring say 300 fans.

They normally bring 300/500.

it's hard to get a read on the Toledo fans from their board. seems to be dominated by football & WBB talk. sounds like there's some frustration from the MBB fans.

i'll ask around over there.

Thats the kind of thing we're trying to start. The crowds seem to be up from last year so its looking good. Now we just need to keep it moving forward.
Only 1009 fannies in the seats
Toledo didn't bring 100 fans.

And why would they? They have a terrible team and were playing another bad team. Neither team can score and this style of play is NOT winning new fans. 41-38 is a freaking abomination for so called Division 1 basketball.

Can't score? They where averaging over 70 points a game, 3rd best in the MAC from beyond the arc!

While you do have a bit of a point in that exciting athletics and high flying fast pace action will gain you fans (football and basketball) I couldnt disagree with you more in saying that this is not winning new fans. The old fashioned friend of ours called WINNING breeds more fans in the stands and more support for your program.

You can get cute when you build the base and have successful years. Winning breeds support. Bottom line.
