WOW that is an impressive move by an impressive coach, NIU basketball is in good hands.

Just a guess, but I don't think we'll see MM use the Ricardo Patton method of throwing his players under the bus.

He is the reason I keep watching games. I have all the faith in the world in him.

Thanks for posting the highlights....in any quality, that was beautiful.

I really love what Montgomery has done so far this year. Despite being 1-13, the guys hadn't even hinted at giving up. They still cared and still had the confidence and the mentality to get that win.

Their body language was positive, their energy was positive, and they just keep getting better. It's so much better than the Ricardo era. Montgomery is enabling positivity, and it's wonderful to watch, even if the results aren't quite where we want them yet wins-wise.

He was definitely the correct hire! What a class act!

Can anyone say, "turning a corner"?

I hope the team and the coaches stay together...win or lose.

Here's the big thing: Look at his tie. He has the correct colors on his tie. Nice tie coach!

Now look at the tie Doeren had after the GoDaddy bowl win. Doeren has some pale blue tie on! Waz up with that??? I thought after our last coach i wouldn't have to say this anymore, but who dresses him? Could someone please buy that man a tie with a Huskie head on it? Or at least red and black stripes!

The day my coach is worried about his tie matching the team colors is the day I find a new coach.

I would guess 90% of coaches when coaching are wearing a tie that has school colors on it.

Where it will matter is in recruiting. If AAU coaches think he is the real deal, they will not object to players coming here. I think in the past, AAU coaches did not like the arogance of Patton. It turned them off. MM could finally open the door.
