Curious if we can get a brief update on each school?

Starting with EMU:

We have 16 known verbals, including two mid-year JUCO transfers.

The number of 3 star recruits could be as high as high as 5 (we have some who were rated 3 stars by at least ONE of the recruiting sites).

We have a very big weekend recruiting scheduled with an estimated 12 recruits visiting as we hope to finish strong.

I believe it is English's modus operandi not to bring in kids for visits early(e.g. mid-December) unless he thinks there is a reasonable chance to seal the deal.

By mid-January it is 'crunch time' - the visitors are motivated to make their decision soon.
I believe NIU has 15 known verbals. Six of which are 3-star recruits.

Looks like NIU has been recruiting a lot of JUCO OL but none of them have picked us that we know. Trying to replace those four starting seniors on our OL.

We lost a WR from Kansas to Kansas when Charlie Weis was hired and offered him.

Waiting to hear about some other guys such as 3-star Florida WR Charlie Miller. He is set to visit next Friday and has NIU and UCF has his top two.

UB has I think, 14 known verbals, with three 3 star guys.
Buffalo has Brandon Berry as a verbal, yet none of the major recruiting sites acknowledge this. Do you have a link or anything? Not trying to be a D. Just curious. He's a helluva player and if he did indeed commit to Buffalo, then kudos. I just havent seen anything about it.
NIU is for it.

Great, so Buffalo has recruited 7 of 15 players from OH or MI. Yeah, that should keep the talent from being too diluted. 03-banghead

I have a ? next to him. I've heard it from a few places but no, AFAIK, no service has yet pegged him.

FWIW here is my source on Berry

B picked up four more verbal commitments on Saturday, according to a source. The Bulls landed two players from Detroit Cass Tech in LB/S Brandon Berry and CB William Rembert and also received verbals from WR Malcolm Robinson from Canton, Ohio and CB C.J. Stancil from Chesterfield, Va. -- Rodnew Mckissic, Buffalo News

8 of the 22 commitments are three star prospects on either Rivals, Scout, or both. I know Rivals is getting ready to do their final evaluations so it is possible one or two more of those kids could get bumped up to three stars on their site. Toledo has 3-4 more spots to fill in the class and have some three star prospects taking official visits over the next two weekends. There is also a West Virginia commit that is visiting Toledo this weekend and thinking about switching his commitment.

It's a pretty strong class for Toledo with LB Jaylen Coleman as the highest rated three star prospect. He was down to a final three of Toledo, Cincinnati, and West Virginia for some time. Then Tim Beckman offered him at Illinois and it became a top four. Last week he shocked many people by committing to Toledo and he is very solid to Toledo so I don't think the Rocket coaching staff has to worry too much about him switching. RB Damion Jones-Moore is only going to Toledo because of his size. The kid is 4th all-time in the state of Pennsylvania for career rushing yards. As a senior he ran for over 1,600 yards and 32 TD's, while averaging 10.1 yards per rush. IMO, the kid's the real deal. If he was 5-11 or 6-0 he would be a four star prospect and probably going to either Penn State (well maybe not), Ohio State, Michigan, Pittsburgh, etc.

You could start here:

and here

Funny how Scout is slanted towards quantity over quality. I'm not sure how Temple can have 31, isn't that over the limit?

Jones-Moore, at 5'7", is going to look like a little kid out there. Definitely doesn't want to go to Penn State.

Rimshot
BGSU is up to 18 verbals...I believe that inludes three JUCO and one post grad. Of those 18, 10 are listed as *** by Scout, Rivals or ESPN.
I looked at the ESPN and took the median score for each school (as h.s. recruits were scored from 79 - 45 in descending order) and found most schools were comparable. A few better. A few worse. But otherwise the medians weren't radically different.

[I assume that the distributions would be more disperse in say the B1G or Pac-12, e.g.. The difference between USC and Wash. State is probably significant. Ditto OSU and Indiana.]

E.g., the distributions for WMU and EMU appear almost identical. Same with UB. Kent appears very similar but a tad stronger at the top.

Akron weak. Toledo strong. Ohio much like other schools, but harder to rate because of the number of JUCOs

and so on and so one.
Temple just picked up a verbal from the #1 prep RB in the country, who is a 4 star according to Scout.
I can report that Ohio is in favor of it.
I think Miami has 17 verbals, most from Ohio, but 3 from South Carolina and one from Florida. We think we might have 2 or 3 scholarships still available.

They did, that’s Montrell Dobbs.

Total as of this AM is 31committed, 5 are rated 3 stars, 22 are rated 2 star, and 4 are not rated.

Hopefully Montrell can step in this year and contribute some with the loss of Bernard Pierce, to help take some of the load off Matt Browns shoulders. Only 4 offensive linemen which worries me some, that’s a position that a run based team can never be too deep, 14 players on the defensive side of the ball which is good to see.

Pennsylvania 12
New Jersey 6
Maryland 5
Virginia 3
New York 2
Washington DC 2
Florida 1

Overall I’de have to say I’m happy so far, but not ecstatic! I’m hoping for a last minute steal of a recruit from Rutgers or Penn State.

I thought you could only sign 28 per year then have 25 join the program???

Personally, I don't think that ESPN pays much attention at all to MAC recruits. They get most of their commitment news directly off of Rivals and Scout.
