good afternoon,

I am in the process of creating a site that includes various information about different stadiums. I would love and appreciate some feedback and information regarding different Big East stadiums. Any information or personal thoughts about the different stadiums. Some notes on the atmosphere, surrounding area, tailgating, food, any thoughts or anything at all about your team's or other team's stadiums would be greatly appreciated.

Also perhaps some info and quotes on the different rivalries and jerseys as well. I really appreciate any help!

Thanks in advance!!!

(also any info can be linked to this page or any other page for your team or whatever you would like. everything will be sourced and cited)
For Milan Puskar Stadium, wikipedia is accurate...

They don't mention that the capacity was around 70,000 prior to luxury suites being added. Although it does mention the 2nd reduction in seating capacity, when more luxury seating was added. But that's just a minor detail...

They also don't mention that the new stadium was coach Frank Cignetti, Sr.'s pet project during his time in Morgantown. But he never got to make use of it. The stadium opened in 1980 for Don Nehlen's first season, the same year WVU adopted the Flying WV logo, which was designed for Nehlen by a sports marketing guy in Kansas City that was related to Nehlen's wife - at no charge...

So Milan Puskar Stadium is the same age as the WV logo the nation is so familiar with today...
Forgot to include - I am looking for fans' perspective which is why I am not juist simply googling the info
Here is the basics on Qualcomm Stadium via wikipedia.

I will add some comments later as I have time.

I thought I read/heard a rumor (probably on one of these boards) that SDSU was considering an on-campus stadium? Is that true or just a bunch of hot air?

There's been some rumblings from the big $$$ alumni but nothing concrete. Everybody is pretty much on standby until the Charger's situation is worked out.
I miss the echo out of the canyon, where the old stadium used to sit. IMO it was far louder, even though it only had a 36,000 capacity. But Milan Puskar Stadium is as easy to get in and out of as it gets in Morgantown. You can exit through town towards I-79 or I-68, via Star City to I-79 north, or across the Mileground to I-68...

There are no bad seats in the stadium, and concessions are easily accessible as well. Plus you can now buy beer at the stadium...
I-A schools only?

I love the picture of WVU's old stadium. It just looks menacing.

Gotcha. Wasn't sure of the exact details but I thought it was something that had to do w/ the Chargers.

When the crowd roared in the old stadium, the mountains would roar back. That intimidated everyone, except Penn State...
You can look at my blog (linked below)..it gives you a pretty good vibe for tailgating at the old guard BE schools.
New Stadium

Quote:Included among the things on UH’s list for the stadium project:

40,000-seat capacity, expandable to 60,000 in the future in 10,000-seat increments (phase two would be 50,000 seats, phase three would be 60,000 seats).
Premium seats (suites, club, loge, etc.) would be about 4,000.
A club lounge that would have view of the field, the downtown skyline and premium food and beverage amenities would be approximately 12,000 square feet.
Individual suites would be about 274 square feet apiece.
The Cougars’ locker room would be around 8,500 square feet and would include toilets, showers, separate coaches accommodations, training, treatment and exam facilities and equipment and manager space.
A 20,000 square-foot multi-purpose academic center.
The press box (which would include a visiting athletic director’s suite) would be above the main suite level.
The entire square footage for the stadium (including field, seating and concourses) would be 450,000 square feet.

Old capacity was 63,500 before the suites. 70k was the all time record attendance.
