yeah...yeah...everyone wants to talk about the Bowls/BcS but the NFL with the late game today shows why it is king.

Nothing 2mrw will top what happened in Denver, Colorado between the Steelers-Broncos...we just saw a legend being born and it happened in a "Post Season" game that actually meant something instead of 34 meaningless bowl games.

You have playoffs in Little League, High School-(some HS teams play as many as 16 games), Division III, Division II & FCS College Football along with of course the highest level of football the National Football League.

But you have some that say it is too "taxing" for the College Athletes yet you have every other level in the NCAA having a playoff system...smh.

Sorry for the rant. 03-banghead03-banghead03-banghead
Hats off to Tebow. He made the plays when he had to. Perfect pass to end the game.
I think the Tebow Train stalls in Foxboro on Saturday.

Yeah, the NFL is fun and I hope my Patriots win another Super Bowl, but I had just as much fun watching SMU beat Pitt in Birmingham on Saturday (for only their second bowl win since 1984). And UConn dominating South Carolina on the same field two years ago was fantastic.

The NFL and NBA players are almost too perfect. I prefer the college games where the players are very good, but not perfect. And I have a more personal connection with my schools than any pro team that I root for.
I didn't watch any of it. I'm waiting for the Packers game...

Giants will give Packers all they can handle.
But Lambeau Field isn't hallowed ground for Giants, Steve. It only works for Green Bay, and it looks like a cold front is moving in. The Giants may end up playing in another ice bowl...

The Giants went up to Lambeau four years ago and beat the Packers in the NFC title game, and being a northern, outdoors team they are not fazed by cold weather.
True. But that was during the Bret Favre soap opera. That isn't the case this time around...
There was no Brett Favre soap opera at that time. That came 7 months later when he decided to come out of retirement.
At this point the team playing the best is not the NY Giants, New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers or even the Green Bay Packers.

The team to beat in the NFL is the New Orleans Saints...I if LSU wins tonight I have a feeling the State of Louisiana will have all the gold.

Back to my point, can you imagine how much fun a true D1A Playoffs would have been...but we are stuck with over 30 meaningless bowl games.
Maize, the Saints have to get past the 49ers before you can say they're playing the best, and SF has the home field advantage...

They can play that game on Mars...the 49ers can't score enough to keep up even with the Niners defense...the Saints are a 3.5 point favorite in San Francisco.
If I remember rightly, Clemson was a 3 point favorite in the Orange Bowl. Predicitons are just another opinion...

The Saints aint Clemson and they actually show up in "Bowl" games...lol. Gotta go with Drew Brees over Alex Smith and Sean Peyton over Jim Harbaugh. Both have already proven it on the biggest of stages.
Watching tim tebow & Alt falcons play FB does not exactally make my day
every time TT throws a pass, I think of duck hunting

And talk about meaningless exb game, Pittsburg with hurt QB vs 500 ballclub
I would call Den vs NE meaningless, just oppertunity for Brady to get hurt

you want true champion GB vs NE, they earned on the field

I like the bowls, but a 16 team playoff would allow them to print money.

Really? How many 1 vs 1 do we get in the Superbowl? Meaningless exhibition game? Winner goes home is the complete opposite of meaningless.

Wow...now i have heard everything.
Tebow and company pulled a 25.9 TV rating, the highest rated Wild Card weekend game since 1988.
They got that rating without me...

That number is higher then the NCAA Men Basketball Title Game, any World Series Game, NBA Finals and any Bowl game including the BCS Title Game and this is just for a 1st Round NFL Playoff Game.

That is why the NFL is the king of all sports in this country. If NBC gets the upcoming Thursday Night TV Package from the NFL then game on for ESPN and they know it.

If that happens then the BIG EAST should follow the NFL lead and sign a exclusive rights deal with them including Basketball if they make the offer we think they are going to make.

For the record this year BCS Title Game drew an 13.8 Rating. The highest ever was USC-Texas with a 21.7 TV Rating.
