Quote:CINCINNATI (AP)—Xavier has canceled “reflection” sessions that were to be mandatory for students who attended a December basketball game against crosstown rival Cincinnati that ended in a brawl.

In a message sent to undergraduates and members of the media Friday, the school’s provost and student president say the university will instead hold a non-mandatory discussion next week. The change was made in response to student feedback on the earlier plan sent Thursday by the dean of students.

That email said fans in the student section contributed to a “hostile atmosphere” and that they would be barred from receiving home tickets for the season if they didn’t attend one of three reflection sessions.

The Friday email says the new approach will focus on supporting the basketball team and Xavier values.

What a bunch of *******. Those moron students deserve a strong reprimand for representing their school in the manner that they did, especially as a Jesuit institution. Way to stick to your guns, X. You're on your way to losing any reputation you ever had as a respectable place. Between this and the ridiculous comments from their gangstas, they are showing their true colors. Oh, and the weak punishments handed down to said gangstas.

Keep it up, X! I'm getting out my marshmallows and graham crackers to roast over the flame of your demise.
