Dyer, originally from Little Rock (Little Rock Christian High School), helped lead Auburn to a national title in 2010 and earned All-SEC honors in 2011 while rushing for 1242 yards and ten touchdowns as the best player on a 7-5 Auburn team . . was named to the Associated Press' 2011 All-SEC first team.

Rumor is that he will request a medical hardship waiver from the NCAA so that he can play in the upcoming season and be near family that is ill.

This would be a coup for stAte and the SBC !! 04-jawdrop

Go stAte . . Go SBC !! 02-13-banana
You guys must be jumping for joy about this news, I know I would be if he was going to FIU.
This would be great for your team but I don't buy his case one bit. He has a national championship ring, SEC experience, then suddenly his offensive coordinator leaves for ASU. Now he just happens to want to apply for medical hardship for the team his ex coach went to and where he could also put up enormous numbers to add to his resume.

He rushed for over 1200 this season and would probably be near 1800 (likely leading D1) in this conference if he gets 250+ carries.
I think this is awesome!! cant wait for UL to stick it to his sss in Cajunfield next fall!!!

I hope the Cajuns stick it to him next fall too . . . but I'll reserve my excitement for when(if?) he is actually in a game for stAte.

I'm not holding my breath . . .

I think you err on the side of caution and compassion on this one.

If both our schools continue to develop we could really turn this into a nice little rivalry

I can't tell which is the actual rumor anymore; Dyer transferring or Dyer not transferring.

He has been having an argument with the site that originally posted it. They are trying to see whose source is better

The word I have been told is that Dyer has requested his release from Auburn and intends to go to ASU, however Auburn has not granted that release yet and until they do his relatives will deny deny deny.

I'm not sure I agree with that.
If he had the depth of offensive line that he has at Auburn playing against SBC teams then I might believe it.

Absolutely!! My statement was tongue in cheek... Our two schools have been so close, so many times and didnt quite get there. Its our time...and Wky and FIU and whomever else wants to come along for the ride...

FWIW, I got an Email update from a Auburn Forum site...

"After speaking with those close to the Dyer family, it appears that things can't be worked out for Mike at Auburn and he does indeed plan to transfer.

If Dyer is given a release by Auburn, he will file paperwork to transfer to Arkansas State.

FYI: You won't get an official word from anyone until he receives a release from Auburn."

As it should be.
Good luck w/dat! Hope to see him at Ladd in a coupla years
I hope he transfers; it would be good for the Belt. That said, I do think the "hardship" deal is being a little overplayed these days. There does not seem to be a consistent enforcement of transfer rules. Personally I would like to see it be 100%, either you can play immediately or you must sit out 1 year (including FBS transfers.)
Our AD gave a very humorous statement at the bowl today about how he can neither confirm or deny anything about Dyer.
Appears Dyer has been released by Auburn . . will this 5 Star, All SEC athlete now enroll at stAte ??

Dryer may be the best running back in college football. As far as him ending up at ASU, all anyone knows for sure is that is where he has said he wants to go.
I hope he does. It will be good publicity for the league. First Sunbelt Heisman candidate?
