Also, Boise State, TCU, and/or Houston would have destroyed both Michigan and Virginia Tech in that game!!!!! it goes to prove it's not how good you are, but who you are.
Didn't notice but sure was surprised to see UM in a BCS game. But I'm not now.
Michigan alum but not a Michigan fan - have to wonder if the refs were Michigan grads as well. Not sure how they over-ruled that catch in the endzone in OT. Close call - but I don't know what they saw that definitively indicated it was not a catch because he did not maintain control throughout the catch. And we (ie Toledo) can't get the same thing to happen against FIU or Syracuse on much more obvious calls - and I can't emphasize the "much more obvious" enough.
Yes, well, I'm not quite sure that Boise State and Houston would travel as well as UM and VT. You had a game with at-large teams that meant nothing, so the only real decision was to maximize revenue. Face it, until something is done to make college football not about the money, it will continue to be about the money.
Need money to run things so money is not a bad thing but it shouldn't screw over a team like Boise. If they're matched against a good traveling fan base, I have to believe that would have brought in the local fans. That unfortunately doesn't fill hotels, does it.
Has this been a particularly good bowl season though? Maybe it's my imagination but seems like a lot of close games. That Stanford - OSU, I was in awe of the game play.
Very good bowl season. The networks (mostly ESPN) have the games spread out over several weeks. This bowl season has been a pleasure. ESPN radio anouncers this evening mentioned bowls vs. an eight team playoff. He said he walked away from watching each game a little empty just feeling like he didn't know who would be the real national champion for sure. Well...that is kind of a stupid comment. Don't we have #1 and #2 lined up to play next week?
I am enjoying myself. It has been particularly good this year. Especially that Military Bowl. I was happy to catch that one live.
