Ken Pomeroy has Florida (11) favored by 18, Memphis (30) favored by 7, Marshall (43) favored by 4, and Southern Miss (68) favored by 9 points. The Memphis and Marshall games are at The Bart.

Pomeroy only has UAB favored in five more games this season, and these are all at 4 points or less. All five are UAB home games.

Percentage wise, UAB has a 5% chance of winning at Florida, 25% against Memphis, 32% against Marshall, and only 18% at Southern Miss.

The highest rated team, according to Pomeroy, that UAB has faced so far is Wichita State (16). Florida (11) will likely be the highest rated team to face UAB this season.

Murray State is now ranked 31, Creighton 36, VCU 48, Middle TN 63, and Kent State 77 (according to Pomeroy).

Creighton lost their first conference game by 12 points against Missouri State, but came back to beat Wichita State, at Wichita, to be 11-2 overall and 1-1 in conference. Wichita State is 10-3 and 1-1 in conference.

Murray State is 14-0 (2-0) and could run the table. Pomeroy gives Murray State a 30.6% probability of going unbeaten during the regular season. Their highest ranked remaining opponent is Austin Peay at 190.

Kent State is 9-3 and VCU is 10-3. Middle Tennessee is 13-2 (2-0).
Creighton took Wichita State out last night in Wichita.... Dare I say, the A&M game was the "easiest" the Blazers have had all year. Kiss all that goodbye when conference play kicks in. Oh, yeah, the Florida game. Realistically, I'd like the Blazers chances much better if the Gators were playinig here, but since it's in Gainesville, , the "scent" of "home cooking" in the air since it's a C-USA/cartel matchup doesn't bode well for the Green and Gold. Sure would be nice to see the Blazers come out of this one with a new set of luggage. This is probably the "murderer's row" of their schedule. Would love to see a sweep, but realistically, 2-2 is more probable. Ovie's got to be in the mix for this calculation to be better than favorable for UAB. He gets hurt, God forbid, in foul trouble or isn't in the game emotionally, trouble will ring their doorbell and let itself right in.

Todd O'Brien, where art thou??? (**** you, Martelli & St. Joe's!)
Alabama A&M comes in at 328 on Pomeroy's ranking system. There are 345 D1 Men's basketball teams.

Unfortunately, Tennessee Martin is 313. They still only have 1 win over a D1 school - yep, UAB. They are only favored in one remaining game. No, UAB doesn't play them again.

Troy is ranked 254, Jacksonville 240, and GW 172.

UAB is currently at 145.
IMHO, the strangest rankings are Harvard at 34 and Utah at 334.

Harvard has beaten FSU, UCF, Utah, and St. Joe's. Harvard s 12-1.

Utah is 3-10, which includes a win over a non-D1 school. They are bad and have been blownout at least 8 times already. They are double-digit underdogs in all 17 remaining Pac-12 games. Their best chance of winning another game is 16% in a home game against Arizona State on Jan. 21st. Pomeroy gives Utah a 42.8% probability of going winless in the Pac-12 this season.

25% against Mempiss sounds awful low. I think we can win this game at home against Mempiss.
Florida just beat an average ACC team (FSU) by 18 points.

Florida is only an underdog in 3 remaining games, the two Kentucky games and at Alabama.

Memphis might only be 8-5 right now, but their losses have been to Michigan (45), Georgetown (13) twice, Murray State (31) and Louisville (17). The first loss to Georgetown was in overtime, and the loss to Murray State was only by 4 points. Hats off to Murray State, they beat Memphis at Memphis.

Memphis is much better than their record would indicate. They also may be better off without Joe Jackson.
Memphis is still a top ten team. They aren't playing like one but don't let their record or their fans fool you.

If Davis thinks he can run that Big 10 offense he runs against Florida, he's got another thing coming. I say let it fly and push the hell out of the ball. FULL SPEED AHEAD; DAMN THE TORPEDOS!

Creighton and Murray State are well coached "Butleresque" type teams. Disciplined and motivated.
I caught most of the Cat's/Cards game and came away thinking wow this is pretty bad basketball. It was pretty physical(dirty?).
I just have that gut feeling about the Mempiss game next Saturday.

Florida just lost to a below average Big East team in Rutgers....who in turn lost to South Florida.

Anything is possible.

Speaking of the Big East, former C-USA school DePaul is 2-52 in the Big East over the past three seasons. They are 9-3 this season, playing a very weak OOC schedule. They are projected to win 4 Big East games this season.
This tells me we have an 80% likelyhood of winning at least one of them. I would prefer that we beat Memphis over the rest of them because it would give the players and davis a boost.

We are coming off our best game against our worst competition but I saw some things to build on.

Winning 2 of the next 4 is a real long shot but I think the team is capable. Probably would not have said that prior to yesterdays game.

True, but that was in double overtime and it was a road game for Florida.

Florida has played three away games, and has lost them all. They lost by 7 points at Ohio State (2), by 4 points at Syracuse (4), and by 2 points in double overtime at Rutgers (124).

Their best wins have been at home by 6 over Arizona (41) and by 18 over FSU (39).
FSU lost the other night to a poor team. This season is wide open for a team to come in late and take it all. Look for some Cinderallas in the Final Four.

Belief makes all things possible.
we will see how much UAB improve since the beginning of the season
A win will be nice but under 10 will be ok
The goal this year like every year is the make the tournament .Just be ready for CUSA tournament
Florida is very good practice game
I would like to see us beat both the gators and tigers but if i had to choose I would rather a win against Memphis, its been a while. To beat them in front of a sold out crowd would be huge for conference momentum and bringing more fans out to the rest of our conference games.
I'd love to have them both, too. Can't stand the cartel (sec) but Memphis has been a "monkey" on UAB's back for a number of years. Our fellas need to kick that *** on 1/7!!!!

More like a gorilla! It is way past time to beat them. Unfortunately, we don't have a point guard.
QT HAD 5 assists & no turnovers at the half yesterday.
