According to Twitter...Armon Binns has been promoted to Bengals 53 man roster and Vidal Hazelton has been signed to the practice squad. Congrats to both!

In a move that will be announced sometime today, #bengals to place Caldwell on IR, add Binns to 53 and sign Hazelton to prac. squad

Caldwell shouldn't even be on an NFL roster. He is absolutely horrible. I have no clue what the Bengals have been thinking keeping that guy around.
Good for Binns & Hazelton!

Caldwell is pretty much done as a Bengal. Maybe they didn't want to give up on a 3rd round pick? Next year should have Shipley & Whalen holding down the slot.

Other question will be what they do about the No.2 spot? Bring Simpson back? or go in a different direction?
Caldwell recently admitted publicly and more importantly to the Bengals that he's been hurt most of the year after Marvin spotted it during a recent practice and questioned him about it. Apparently the Bengals checked him out and agreed - thus this trip to the DL. Like many, I've been critical of him this year, but I wouldn't necessarily rule out his return next year.

Simpson could very well be behind bars, so they'd need a back up plan.

This. Simpson is a very talented receiver, but he has been inconsistent at times with drops and quitting on routes. That, along with the imminent legal crackdown makes it a no-brainer: Pick up a replacement in the draft or free agency.
Draft Justin Blackmon. 03-wink
good for Binns and Hazleton. I hope Binns gets some opportunities and makes the best of them. He's got a future in the NFL if the Bengals give him a chance.
This gives me a reason to pay more attention to the Bengals. I'm all for that.

Btw- weird how the Simpson thing has gone so quiet. What's the latest status of his legal troubles?
Good for the big man, with great hands.

Quote:Guidugli to suit up for Rams Sunday
Former Highlands and University of Cincinnati standout Ben Guidugli will be on the active roster for the St. Louis Rams NFL team in its season finale Sunday, Jan. 1 at home against San Francisco. Kickoff is 1 p.m.

Guidugli, a tight end, has been on the practice squad this season and ineligible to play in games. He was promoted Dec. 27 and could see his first regular season action. Guidugli played in several Rams preseason games.
