This is a soft spoken, humble young man from what I've gathered listening to him in interviews. I hope he earns his redemption.

Very humble. Though our statewide newspaper spent today trying to paint him as a thug..went into detail about what he did and made a big point about how they were changing sentences for him as a favor...

Favor? Yeah, has a lot more to do with having gone over and above the conditions set upon him. Making great academic progress, staying totally out of trouble, and going the extra mile working with at risk kids.

No judge or prosecutor in Texas gives a rip about him playing good football in Arkansas, they do care that he has demonstrated over the past four years that he is making the best of the opportunity.

When I did criminal defense work diversion and reduced sentence deals and deferrments were all rather common for first and even second time offenders. About 40% completely wasted the chance, about 40% did the bare minimum to get through and then you get the 20% who use it to create a new life.
