The Ole Miss 247 site is reporting it. See here. It seems like an odd move. We've had several well regarded high school DBs that haven't worked out, leading to our depth issues in the secondary. I don't know what to attribute that to.
Williams wasn't working out at USA.
Good luck to Ole Miss.
I think Williams will work out fine. His heart was alway with a BCS program! This will give him an opportunity to flourish with big tyme competition. Ya gotta admit.. He comes from a big time high school program!

Well, if Carl's heart wasn't into South Alabama, then he would have been miserable there. When my son came out of high school, he didn't get the offers he would have liked but chose one anyway. It miraculously worked out for him. The chances are 10-1 that ever works out for the best. Good luck to Carl at Ole Miss.
I think this will be beneficial for both parties.

Well consider.. He was originally commited to Illinois, when he decommited, the other Big Boys had filled the safety spot. Williams settled, because South Alabama was there to cover himself. He's always been told and prepared for a major program.. Big !0 or SEC. The kid is to physcial for the minor leagues..
Sounds like a boat load to me big boss.

GO JAGS!!!!!!!

There are at least two teams in the "minor leagues" that could have beaten ole miss handily this year.

Perhaps you should have spent less time telling him he was going to "major program" and more time teaching him how to be a good teammate.

Maybe at his 4th school in 3 and a half years he'll figure out how to jell with his coaches and teammates.

At least now he has some time to get his academics in order.

I do not think Ole Miss would qualify as a big league team. I agree they play in a big time league, but they suck, no other way to say it. Wish him luck.

CW may have wanted to leave, but he didn't have any choice in the matter.

Good exchange of information in this thread, and good exchange of opinions. And now that we know he's leaving USA for Ole Miss, maybe we can wish him well (as many have done), move on, and leave the dignity of South and the young man intact.
Our secondary was terrible this year and he couldn't even get in the game - good luck in the SEC. Hope he enjoys that "greener" grass up there in Oxford. Ole Miss is a dumpster fire. Just like with Ray Cotton, I'd much rather have a 2 star kid who actually wants to be at USA than a 3 star who thinks he's better than USA. Thanks for opening up a scholarship for someone who will actually appreciate the opportunity to wear the red, white and blue and work hard to make us proud.
Speaking of Ray Cotton, it looks like he will be at Jackson State next year.
