Yeah, you could tell when he was sulking at the end of the bench that it was bad news. On the good side, he'll qualify for the Jordan White 6 year plan. He can play three more years, starting next year, and get a masters. All those BYU guys are like 28, so it's no big deal if he sticks around for awhile.
Anyone notice that Jordan White didn't seem too chummy with his teammates for picks at half time tonight. They all had arms around each other and he stood with hands in his pockets and no smile. The walked totally away from everyone when it was done. I found it strange
I hope david can hang in there and have something positive come out of all this.
I wanted all three of them them to take their damn hands out of their pockets, and stand up straight. The dad/teacher part of me wanted to go into lecture mode. I know they're fine young men and all.........it's just little stuff like that bugs me. 03-old
Me too. It was all I could think about.
They did all sit together up there though as far as I could tell
One problem with him getting another year: he's played in 10 games this season, aren't they only allowed 9?
Tommyboy. I believe that "medical redshirts" do not have the game limitation, but is evaluated based upon the season. David will have missed 2/3 of the season and not have played in any league games. I would have to check with sources on that issue, but I do believe that a medical redshirt would be available, especially for last year.

Always proud to be a Bronco.
A 6th year is a huge advantage. That puts him in Richie and Hoerdemann's class.

If he chooses not to, does his scholly get yanked and one of the 7 incoming freshman get it? Hence solving the upcoming issue.

Hopefully he sticks with it, even if he doesn't get a 6th year, he still has 2 years left.

I'd like to see the young man do well on the court for the Broncos. Stay with it DB, you will never regret it.
Who wouldn't want to do six years in college?

I don't know. When I was in my 6th year and pushing 25, it was a lot harder to score with the freshmen. "How old are you?"..........."Uhhh, 25." :sorry: I had to start lying about my age...........AT 25 03-hissyfit

When this question came up last year for him I believe the cut off was 9 games. Yes the rule is expressed as a percent of the season, last year that percent correlated to nine games played, is there any (enough) additional games to bump that to the ten that he has played in this year?
Do the 4 games in PR only count as 2, like they do toward the schedule?

Acer,
What Tommybot was referring to is this:
Quote:A special case involves the eligibility of a player who loses the majority of a season to injury. Popularly known as a medical redshirt, a hardship waiver may be granted an athlete who appears in fewer than 30% of his or her team's competitions (with none coming after the midway point of the season), then suffers a season-ending injury. A player who is granted such a waiver is treated for the purposes of their eligibility as though he or she had not competed in that season.

30% has been commonly refered to as a max of 9 games played. David Brown was hurt in his 10th game.
