Twas two nights before Beef Bowl, But yet not a word
Not a creature was thundering, Not even a herd
The smacktalk is usually flung through the air,
But the silence is deafening, knowing the win won't be there.

Very telling is the absence of the usual chatter,
Knowing that in the end, it just will not matter.
CUSAers can't back up their talking of trash,
But their attendance is tops, and they make much more cash.

The WV bumpkins were nestled all snug in their hills,
While Florida Panthers prepared for the kill.
All the talk of AQ justified by pseudoscience,
Could not protect the precious Alliance.

Kinda creepy...... but I agree that FIU should kill the herd
the Sun Belt has established itself. just look how far we've come in just a decade of FBS sponsored football.
F-F I-I U-U FIU!
I think FIU stinks, but Marshall is stinkyer. And FIU is at home. Panthers by 7.
While out on the filed there arose such a clatter
But no one was watching so what does it matter?
Why do you have a picture of a goat in a three-way with some lion cubs under your post?

+1
How does FIU stink? They went 3-1 in OOC.

Because that's Marv Albert, doing his neck (biting) fetish, and George Michael, doing his usual thing.....................from...........behind.
Don't worry come ten hours prior to the game the whole conference USA board will light up. Then following the game you will see five threads about how FIU is the best team in the Sun Belt and they should be added to conference USA. It would be so classic if Marshall, Tulsa, Houston, and USM lose.

lol UMADBRO? lol it was a year ago and a phenomenal play no shame in losing to us 2 outta 3 the last 3 years 05-stirthepot02-13-banana
Herd got crushed by BobCats early in the season but did manage to beat a good USM team. By the way, last I saw Herd ticket offcie had only sold 2,000 tickets of their allotment......6-6 teams do not travel well, my friends. I suspect it'll be like a home game for FIU, and they are lucky they have a Florida team in the game or the stadium would be empty.

One of FIU's wins and one of their losses against Toledo was when Toledo was pretty sucky itself. 03-wink

Down year for the traditional SB powers. Losing to WKU was bad. Lucky for the Panthers that Bridgewater really hadn't taken over the reigns for UL yet. I wouldn't say FIU stinks, a but a so-so year for the Golden Panthers. Marshall, their Bowl opponent was blown out by Ohio U 44-7.
Marshall is not that bad judging by their play down the stretch.....the OU blowout was early in the season. I think it'll be a close game actually. I thought I saw a blurb somewhere that this bowl was the worst attended bowl last year.....they should have decent attendance with FIU in the game. Be surprised if Marshall travels well to this one as their fan base has not been too pleased with their season overall coming in at 6-6. Here's an article on ticket sales to the game..athletic dept at Marshall is pleased with the results to date..they've sold 2,000 tickets out of their 7500 ticket requirement:

Marshall did beat the future season champion Southern Miss the week before so I'm not sure you can completely dismiss the Herd for a bad loss.

However if you want to dismiss CUSA as a conference by virtue of their best team Southern Miss losing to Marshall who lost to Ohio you are more than free to do that.

....last I saw FIU was a 4 point favorite in Beef o Brady's Bowl.
..with the way C-USA'ers look down on the "Belt", it'll be embarassing if Marshall loses to FIU......as far as the Sunbelt is concerned, NIU has a pretty tough match-up with Arkansas State.
