Hello Fellow Broncos!
I look forward to seeing you at Ford Field in just a little over a week. I have to say, watching the opening slate of bowl games on ESPN really has me antsy for some Bronco Football in the D!!
I'm really proud of the MAC. Temple put the game away early and the Bobcats had anyone watching on the edge of their seats! Great Win!!
I have a couple of quick observations...
- Ohio and Temple made the MAC look really good today! For all of its faults and frustrations, the MAC is a solid, little conference. It's imperative for Western, Toledo and Northern Illinois to not falter this bowl season!
- Did you see how jubilant the Bobcats were after their win? It wasn't just a thrilling end to that game, but it was also Ohio's first bowl win EVER! Was that cool or what? I'm so ready for the Broncos' first bowl win this year too!!
- Wyoming... even though they lost (badly) at the hands of the Owls, I applaud them for their school colors. Their colors, like Western's colors, are BROWN AND GOLD! Bravo to Wyoming, their fans, and their sports teams for sticking to their school colors, and not running from them. Hey WMU sports marketing... go back to Brown and Gold!! Consider some "Brownouts" for the fans next season... not "blackouts" Everyone... do we really want to look like Boilermaker fans at the Pizza Bowl? Wear WESTERN'S school colors with pride!! Be proud of the BROWN and Gold!!
- Anyone watching the Ragin' Cajuns bowl game? Look at how many fans have showed up!! Those fans have painted New Orleans Cajun Red! The distance between Lafayette and New Orleans is 135 miles. This truly is a home game for Cajuns fans and they have taken advantage of it! For those who might not know, the distance between Kalamazoo and Detroit is 140 miles. The Pizza bowl SHOULD be a home game for Bronco fans!! Imagine a sea of Brown and Gold at Ford Field!!! Bronco Fans so loud we're drowning that "boiler up" chant! I firmly believe fans make a difference in gams such as these (remember the central game this year?)
Bronco fans... dig out your BROWN t-shirts, hats and hoodies, buy a ticket, come down to Ford Field on the 27th and have some fun cheering on your team!
