They updated the future opponents pdf on the usajaguars site.

Edit: Looking at this there are no FCS teams on the schedule after this year, and for several of those years the OOC is full. Wouldn't it be good to schedule one FCS OOC home every year? I know these type of games are last minute sometime, but it would give us a home game and probable win to go towards bowl eligiblity.

I believe that an FCS win only counts toward bowl eligibility every other year.

I believe they changed it within the past couple years to where you can count one FCS per year now.

That's right. Remember how the NC State fans were upset that they scheduled USA and Liberty in the same year when only one of the wins would count towards bowl eligibility.

I'd like some more winnable games scattered throughout the years too, but I think we don't have room for them because he need to satisfy soem 2 for 1 deals and we have those 1 for 1's with other non-AQ schools.
I'm going to respectfully disagree with having the FCS winnable games on the schedule.

I prefer what we have going, and that is the "anytime, anywhere, anyone" mentality. Fresno State built an entire reputation on that motto and I like that we have used that same philosophy in scheduling.

It makes recruiting easier. It will make us better. And sometimes you catch lightning in a bottle and pull an upset.

All of that equals better for us.

Losing to Tennessee or Hawaii or LSU or anyone else, and pulling some kind of 28-20 or 17-16 loss in the future is exponentially better than beating Georgia Southern, Furman, or Sam Houston State by any score. The former makes an appearance on SportsCenter. The latter barely makes the scrolling ticker.

Well noted.

I am not saying that we shouldn't any play those type of games. We should just be careful in scheduling them. I am also looking at the upside of having a home game, and a win towards bowl elgibility. I like what we have done with regard to the two for ones and money games. I just don't think that the ULM model (they did play Grambling this year) should be used. They have to play money games to sustain their program, but at the cost of never having a winning season. They did have one win against a down UA team in an istance where Saban had already lost the team. I don't see the value of playing 4 SEC road games a season, unless it is strictly for the money. IMO getting beat up, risking injury, and possibly demoralizing your team for in conference play is not a recipe for success.
Even Fresno State has played the occasional FCS game. Sometimes you have to fill out your schedule and you can't make the dates work with an FBS game.

With 388 Bowl games each year, it's almost a necessity!
Regardless of any bowl consideration....

Next years schedule should, I hope, put many more butts in the stands. We'll finally getting to big time football. And, I'm hoping that we will prove to be better than most think.

2012 is stand up and be counted time.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it's my understanding that we will still be considered FCS until we transistion to FBS in 2013.
Next year we are a transitional FBS team, which means that we count as an FBS win towards bowl eligibility (should a team be so fortunate as to defeat us) but we are not eligible for a conference title or a bowl ourselves.
We won't be in NCAA 13.

We will have to wait until NCAA 14.

I am ready for that day.

Really? I told my sons that we weren't going to buy a newer version for the Wii until the Jags were in it. I don't know if they can wait that long.
Uhh? That doesn't sound like real football. Stop that! We have a real schedule to discuss.

Ha Ha. I hope you guys have fun with your games.

I think GCS is right. But they come out a year early, in early spring I think. So NCAA 14's release is only a little over a year away.

Hi AJ, got another question: Will the Jags' stats be counted as an FCS Independent next year as they did this year or will they be counted/documented as FBS? Thanks.
All stats will be as a FBS team, the only thing is that we are ineligible for any post season, just as if we were on probation like USC. We will be listed as a Sunbelt team on all statistics.
Yep.

Well played...
