I had no problems understanding UofM. They travel as well as anyone.

VaTech? Why?

I got to believe Boise State would have done better.

I really believe the 'fix' was in on this bowl.

Someone owed someone a favor, or wanted to win favor, or collegiate 'politicis' or something.
I think K state got royaly screwed they would have brought a ton of fans. I guess these days u can blasted in your championship game and still go to a BCS bowl even in a crappy conference like the acc.

Poor K state better team from a better conference but sorry we dont want you.

Still a nice match-up with Arkansas. Boise State certainly deserved a better Bowl and match-up than a 6-6 Arizona State in the Maaco Bowl. It will hurt their final ranking.
Yeah, I really feel terrible for Kansas State. Poor Wildcats. Boo hoo.

Boise shows the problem with the bowl system.

For the non-AQ it is feast or famine: BCS bowl or a bowl much further down the pecking order than one would expect for a top 10 team.

Didn't some of our great MAC teams say 10 years ago have the same problem trying to get a top bowl?

Didn't a lot of schools like to DODGE Big Ben and Miami fearing a trip to the woodshed?
Perhaps they left Boise out just as more incentive to join the Big East.

it wasn't a 'fix". Look at the history of the Sugar Bowl. all except two times if I recall correctly the Sugar Bowl has taken a present, past, or future SEC or ACC team. It is similar to how the Rose Bowl will take a BIG10 team and a PAC team unless forced not to. It is tradition and to the bowls that is a big part of what they are about.

THIS!

In my opinion the non-AQs need to focus their energies on access to the "next-to-top tier" bowls. Every year there are Top 30 non-AQ teams who are relegated to the lower bowls simply due to the fact nearly EVERY good bowl is pre-ordained by the Big Boys. Big Ten #3 vs SEC #4; ACC #2 vs Big XII #3; and all that rot.

The excessive pre-determination of bowls with no wiggle room (except at the bottom tier) is what the non-AQs must push on being reformed.
I hope they don't sell out the game...serve 'em right for bypassing more deserving teams like K-State or Boise St. K-St would've sold over 20K tickets I am sure.
I wonder how many people are not buying directly from the university. The past couple of years there has been a lot of talk about people buying tickets cheaper by not buying from the school.
Besides Georgia, who did Boise St. beat this year that warrants them a BCS game when they didn't even win the MWC???

I'm not saying they deserve to be there either. The ACC is a bad football conference. I would say K-State should be here, they did beat Baylor and Texas.
