Blames officials in part for not taking control of Xaviers trash talking

"rediculous defense", not going to win if can't get ball in basket,
couldn't get big guy to cover X offensive plays, players worst they'v been

Suck a$$ coaching it seems to me
Offense. Offense. Offense.

Good teams put the ball in the hole. Teach it, Learn it, Live it.
If this team let's an opponent shoot over 50% it is a loss every time. They did get screwed a number of times by the refs but does not come close to 23 points difference. Mick either needs to recruit players who can score or get a bunch of guys who will not let the other team breath (which comes mostly will power and heart). Gaines provided the most energy to the team and only played very little which was very disappointing to me. I have to wonder if the guys on the floor aren't getting it done why not give somebody else a chance? Gaines made a huge difference without scoring a point. Why not let him play with Gates?

If Yancy would be strong around the rim he would be unreal. He shoots fade away after fade away instead of going up tough. He would be unstoppable if he took this attitude...

Just me 2 cents worth...
Who cares about the rash talk. If you can't teach your players to control themselves, then you're no coach. The fact is, UC sucked the whole game and couldn't at least take the beating like men. Sad

Let's not take the blame away from the ones that really started this mess. Tu Holloway and Dez Wells. They took trash talking to the next level and were the ones that started this all. Coach Mack has shown that he 's not in control of his team and they have more players with experience. They should have never started this.

If you're looking at it objectively, it wasn't just them, it was everybody and everything starting earlier this week. To try to pass this off on Xavier just isn't legitimate.
If Lyons and Holloway were really unapologetic in the postgame press conference, and continuing to act like punks...........then this will happen again with Xavier somewhere up the road this season. It happened with Butler last year.

Until Xavier gets a handle on those two, this might get worse.

Tu Hollway pushed GeLawn Guyn down and that started it. No doubt Gates though a couple of punches but the bottom line is Holloway started it. If he had not pushed Guyn down nothing would have happened.
Plus after every great play by Xavier they pumped there fist and the crowd cheered. This should be handled like in football for unsportsman like conduct on the floor.
Xavier won the game, they both lost the fight, and Cincinnati won the press conference. All you need to do is listen to the Xavier press conference and then listen to Mick Cronin.

I don't care right now that UC lost the game. All I care about is how the University of Cincinnati handles basketball going forward.
Holloway didn't push him down, I thought Wells did.

And you realize that if you instituted that penalty, it would be called by both teams every time they scored, right?

Props to Mick for his presser after the game.

Check out the replay I stoped it several times to make sure the number of the player who pushed Guyn down. It was Holloway.

#5 does the pushing, that's Wells.

Could not have said it better. Completely embarrassing for both teams. What a sad day when you have somebody say that they are a gangster on TV.

I said it before, if either of these schools have any class some of these guys should be suspended a long time on both sides. #5 and Gates maybe the whole year. I loved when Mick said some may not play again at UC. X is looking really bad not saying the same thing.

What a sad day for college athletics....
Watching the replay, it looked to me like someone got in Guyn's face, like beyond his personal space, was trashtalking, and Guyn gave him an "outta my face" push to the forehead........not a "i want to brawl" push to the forehead. It was simply, a push to say get outta my face. Then someone pretty much pulled Guyn to the floor.

That's the way I saw it.

I think the officials who did the game should be suspended for not properly keeping the trash talking and taunting in check. In nearly all the games I've watched that get heated, players are given T's for simply saying one thing. The officials nip it in the bud right there and then. If the Xavier players were allowed to continually taunt the UC bench and coaches...........and the officials saw it and did nothing........they deserve alot of the blame.
Holloway is a punk a%% b#@^
