Is that tofu hamhock in the pot, or are you bending the vegetarian rules, MissJ?

I noticed that too.
Any pot liquor left? When the greens are gone, that's the best part with leftover cornbread.

No doubt...nothing quite like dipping some over-buttered cornbread into some greens flavored with hamhock grease (along with some salt and pepper)...yum!

yes, it was nasty nasty nasty ham hocks....I have tried my best to find something "southern" to use to substitute for the seasoning.....well, guess what, there isn't a single thing. I got tired of trying the different suggestions that vegetarians use...get this....for seasoning they use:
honey,imitation bacon bits, onions, butter, garlic, sugar, peanut butter, rice vinegar & lemon. Sorry but this vegetarian was raised a meat-eater and by a mom and dad that were damn good cooks that cooked "southern". So, I used the ham hocks and oh my goodness, nothing can compare seasoning-wise, nothing. Oh, and Kassie & Kyzer had a wonderful meal afterwords. Don't tell anyone but I also had a bite of turkey on Thanksgiving.
I don't do the pot liquor....my Mom would drink every drop of that stuff.
