We will send out RFQ for architectural design in the coming weeks.

Groundbreaking expected within 10 months.
Too little, too late. TCU is in. The store is now closed.

For Louisville and Rutgers, there is a good possibility.

?

We're not building a stadium to get into the Big 12. We're building a stadium because our old one sucks and we need a new one.

Sour grapes and weird reactions in CUSAland.
---> Big East Board.
Did he announce a timeline for filling it consistently??

Nope. Still a C-USA member for the next 18 months.

And we've been packing ours for nearly three years now. Try harder.
C-USA Hate. The gift that keeps on giving
What a splash of an announcement.

TaLOLgrass is boiling.

Yeah ok. I have a television and witnessed thousands walk out on the NCAA record setter for nearly every passing record. Houston's fanbase is weak. 32K in a city that size??? 03-lmfao

Yeah, sorry we haven't found a way to fit more fans in seats that don't exist. That's a low limit admittedly, which we are now addressing with a larger stadium. Not sure what you are looking to get out of this exchange other than to try to get some weak smack in, to which I can reply with 56-3 and send you about your way.
The RFQ might be design only. Might be design-build. Don't know yet, but should know soon. If it's design only, then we would have another RFQ for the construction contract after the design is chosen.

Either way, we should have an accurate grasp on what the new stadium will look like come Spring.

If we break ground in 10 months, that probably means UH plays in Reliant for 2012 and maybe 2013. Questionable if the new stadium would be ready for the 2013 season

If the groundbreaking is delayed at all, then UH probably plays at Robertson in 2012 and Reliant in 2013.

Either way, UH will be playing in a new campus stadium in 2014. Maybe by 2013.

Coincidentally, the light rail connecting the UH campus to the Downtown-Medical Center main line is scheduled to be ready by the fall of 2014. The rail goes right by the stadium.
I'm sure this has been posted before but what will be the new capacity? Any renderings? UH is in a good position right now. With the excitement of this season and the move exciting the fan base. I never understood a program with Houston's tradition in that size stadium. Things could be about to blow up there.

I believe the target number before the realignment stuff happened was 40k with options to expand to 50k. I would imagine now with a new conference they will lean more toward 50k to start with.
Will this stadium be ready while you are in CUSA? No, then why post it here? I'd rather see pictures of Krispy Kreme Stadium.

It could affect where CUSA games are played next season. CUSA teams may be visiting Reliant.

There's this neat feature of message boards called topics, where you can read a brief summary of what a message board post contains and decide whether you want to click and read it or not. It's pretty neat; you should check it out.

That's not nearly as much fun as being a troll and having sour grapes.

I'm not sure that it actually is a C-USA topic, since you're never going to play a down of football in C-USA in your new stadium. Congrats about it and I am sure it's going to be a great benefit to your football program, but really it's not a C-USA topic like Tulane's stadium because it's never going to provide a single benefit to the league.

You are pretty sharp for a UCF fan.
