Our new league could have a new commissioner in place by Christmas.

Also they're looking at having a 24 game conference schedule, which is 4 less than what we currently play. This would allow for 5 non-conference series', as opposed to 4.

5 nonconference series, unless there's a trip to Alaska.
ND would be a definite one. Then 3 of the following: State, scUM, Ferris State
Some cupcake like UAH for the 5th.

Repeat
The only one of those I'd count as a guarantee right now is Ferris. I'm expecting to have some serious tussels with the rest to get games in Kalamazoo, and I'm not interested in road games only.

State would likely sign a home-and-home (if not in the same year, then year-by-year) series with us.

ND wouldn't be too bad, since its relatively close to us. However, ND is always unpredictable with their "standards".

scUM: yeah, that's probably a pipe dream. They wouldn't leave Yost for anything
There's always BG fairly close by, too.

Good catch.

I always get thrown off by the exemption for Alaska trips
I cannot imagine for the life of me any team voluntarily taking the trip to Alaska unless they are going to play in one of the tournaments, which might be what you guys are talking about.

I don't see us taking any Alaska trips after the CCHA folds. That's been pretty consistent. Both Alaska schools have a tournament in recent years, then they play each other non-conference. They'll probably have to replace that series with a road trip somewhere in the 48.

Agreed. MSU will agree, UM probably not.
