Full Version: When will Gonzaga be considered choking dogs

This is the 4th year in a row that Gonzaga has lost in the first or second round. In 2002 I believe they were a #6 seed and lost to Wyoming in the first round. In 2003 they were they were a #9 seed and beat us but then lost in the 2nd round to Arizona. In 2004 they were a #2 seed and lost to a #10 seed (Nevada). This year they were a #3 seed and lost in the second round. If they want to put us through the ringer then put Gonzaga through it. The last time Gonzaga made the Sweet 16 is the last time we made the Sweet 16 (2001).
Hasn't Wake Forest done its share of bowing out early? Kansas too, come to think of it.
But just like with everything else, the outsiders tend to only focus on the negatives with us. If and when the break through happens for Huggs and the team, it will be such a relieve psychologically, just to have that stigma off their backs. I hope it happens for them soon, maybe like next year :)
Trust me, the locals here are missing the days of the mighty Cinderella Zags, so the early exits aren't going unnoticed here.

On a humorous side note, I was playing Texas Hold 'Em tonight, and Adam Morrison was at my table. I could have sucked him dry on a hand, but after their game today I didn't have the heart. Nice, down-to-earth kid.
lol Spokane!

Yep yipg, Kansas was getting KILLED on the national radio last night. BUCKNELL! They have a nice team this year and won at Pitt, but when you're a national title contender Bucknell doesn't send you home packing. And Wake, wow. Skip is back to his old tricks. Thank god for Manhattan (and only by 4 points no less) or he wouldn't even have a Sweet 16 appearance! That's why I'm not overly concerned about UC and the NCAAs. The Big East will allow us to bring in the talent to compete for the Final Four and then toughen up the kids enough to make a run. You saw what a tough schedule did for this year's team. If we had a few more horses (like Whaley, Banks and a healthy Chadd Moore), we're moving past Kentucky and into the Sweet 16. Heck, we're probably not even playing Kentucky, we're probably a 2 seed ourselves, or at least a 3 seed. Next year's team is stacked, on paper, so if they're executing we should be fine.
