Currently, JC is 5-2 and has the #16 RPI. TCU hosts Texas Tech tonight.

Geno's Bradley team has lost 4 straight after winning their first three vs. very weak competition. They host Northeastern tonight. Bradley's RPI is #218.

I find myself rooting for JC a lot more, though I really don't wish ill on Geno.
Bradley fans are a bit intense as BBall is one of their three major sports. I imagine life in Peoria is not fun after dropping four in a row.
And dont forget stan heath who is 5-4 and probably on the hot seat at USF.

His one season with us has made Stan so much $$$ and since then he has really done nothing. I hope he sends those Elite 8 players xmas cards each year!
Nine years coaching at Big 12/Big East programs is not nothing. He couldn't make the Ark. fans happy unless he took them to Nolan Richardson levels, and then he took a fledgling program at USF into the (used to be) toughest conference in the country. Sure, he is going to need to make progress there, but there are a huge pile of coaches who don't coach nine years in the power conferences. I actually think he's a good coach. And thanks to us, he's a wealthy young coach.
I'm always said that if Gary Waters coached at KSU the 2001/2002 season, we would not have made the Eleit 8.
AlphaFlash, Gary Waters also said as much. Forget about whether any changes Heath made were good, bad or neutral. No Heath, no Antonio Gates. No Antonio Gates, no "Elite Eight".

True about Gates. However, my theory is a little different. If we had Waters, we would have won early in the season against YSU. That would have changed our seeding in the NCAA-T.
A lot of our success that post-season has to do with our seeding. Although we where "underdogs," I really think the only upset we pulled in that gig was against Pitt.
I also think we where better than IU, but they had some freaky Saturday night streak going on from 3 that ended my hopes of my last game as a member of the Flasher Brass being in Atlanta. Watching the UNC/Kentucky game at Rupp Arena Saturday was a bit nostalgic.

Gates was exactly what that team needed to go with the Huffman/Mitchell backcourt. He was the final piece for a team that needed a low-post scoring threat.
JC and TCU taking it to Tex. Tech, their future conference mate. 63-51 with 6:00 left.
Rob Senderoff is 6-1. Oh my bad, this isn't 2012 yet. Rimshot

Ok, that was funny.03-lmfao
TCU wins 71-65. JC rolling early.

Bradley up 10 with 10 to go.
AlphaFlash, I think had Waters stayed Mike Perry wouldn't have imploded and would have played that year, and I think they would have beaten Hofstra and YSU, but I don't see how they would have been as good overall without Gates, and I really don't see them in the "Elite Eight". That is something nobody will ever know. It reminds me of the old SNL bit, "What if Eleanor Roosevelt Could Fly?"
The Frogs have just 11 wins the last three years in conference. Will be interesting to see what happens when they get to the Mountain West.

I can tell you. A lot of losses.
Good thing they are going to the Big 12 then.
But will Christian make it? If they have another disastrous conference swing (though I highly doubt they only manage a single win)...

I don't think he will make it. I have thought all along when they went to a BCS conference they would usher him out and bring in new blood. I think they have to make the NCAA tournament for him to get another year.
He needs a good year. Last year was a disaster. We do thank JC for saving us from Ronnie Moss who he had to boot from the team. No Ronnie Moss in Kent meant Al Fisher. Whew.

I'd agree with that. Or at least come very, very close.
