In our on backyard there are two Freshman that are standing out.

At East High 6'6 Kealon Lawson had a 21 point outing against Whitehaven and turned around and scored 16points in the Championship game of the MLK.

At Booker T. Washington 6'3 G/F Khalil Spencer scored an amazing 45 points in his first varsity action of the season. Khalil made eight threes bringing back memories of T-Head Moy.

I hope these guys are future Tigers........
Great info
Wow.Wonder how many were layups in the BTW game.Against Power Center who BTW beat 119-19.What a powerhouse they played.I see Memphis Business next on their schedule and then later the Memphis School of Excellence. May be some more 45 point games.

Hey 45pts is 45pts I don't care if its against whoever. The kid can only play who shows up @ the gym.
Skal Labissiere at ECS also had 25 pts, 11 boards and 3 blocks verse MUS last night. He is a legitimate 6'9" as a Freshman.

I can't front though,I thought that was really wrong. I understand it's bball and you play to win but by 100 points? Come on,Power Center Academy is only it's second year of existence and have a team full of 9th graders,no sophmores,no juniors,no seniors. Playing the game is cool but demoralizing kids is another thing. Coach Horton is a good coach but he knows that was wrong and in the end, could come back to bite him in the a..

You are right. And we played Southwind last night and they could have beat us by 100. We still lost by 60 but they were not trying to run up the clock. Coach played his 3rd string as much as possible but you can't tell the kids not to score because they are not going to get better that way.

That's true, you can't tell kids not to score but what you can say is,let's have some integrity. It's easy to just pass it around and let the time expire because in a game of that big of a margin, the clock is running anyway. Like you said though, their coach did it the right way and I would have pulled my starters in the 1st couple of minutes if I knew right away, that we were that much better than the other team. Especially 50-60 points better.

Skal is very good! Real good,a little light in the buttocks be he's good. Just needs to get much stronger and be a lil more physical.

This kid is my pick! Coming out of Haiti he's got to have a work ethic.

I agree. And I wasn't trying to be mean toward the Power Center kids.Didn't know they were just a second year school.I keep up with all high school basketball with over 7,000 posts on Coach T but hadn't heard of them.So they'll be all right in time.If he had 45 points, wonder how many Newby had as he is going to probably win Mr.Basketball in Single A.
It's such a long way off, but still exciting. Names of the future:

Skal Labissiere
Lawson & Lawson
Nick Smith
Khalil Spencer
Davell Roby
Chris Chiozza
Lucky Cheatham
Chris Hale
Naba Echols
It may seem to be a ling way off but the good coach's are recruiting all of these kids now.

I hear that Georgetown is already showing interest in Lawson and for Spencer
Arkansas & Ole Miss.

I'm sure our coaching staff are aware of these young men.
Go Tigers Go!
No doubt this class has a chance to be deep and special. Stay tuned.
