How could anyone who watched our last two games possibly make us the favorite in Detroit?
it would not shock me if we were the dog here in this cat and dog fight

We had over 700 yards of offense against Ball State (a team Ohio lost to) and nearly set an NCAA record for first downs.

I could not agree more, no way we are the opening line favorite.

I've got to believe Ohio is slightly favored by the odds makers. The more I examine Ohio and what they have accomplished and failed this season, the more I respect that team. Other than Tettleton they are unspectacular in any regard. But they look to be the most well rounded MAC opponent NIU will face this season. And each of their 3 losses were tight games until the end. Frank Solich is a battle tested veteran coach too.
I've seen the bobcats play 2 or 3 times this season and they may be a well rounded team, but there is no way they are a better team than Toledo. This is a very winnable game. NIU is a slight favorite in the 3 - 6pt range.
NIU has been an enormously hard team to predict. I can't say with any measure of confidence whether NIU wins 63-60, or 18-12. What I do know is that Ohio is formidable opponent and that in order to win this game NIU will have to click on all cylinders.
NIU will be favored. I'd take any bets with anyone who thinks Ohio will be favoried. WD hasn't got a prediction correct since the Clinton administration. NIU will be a from 4 to 6 pt favorite.

The teams are very different, its not the same team as last year. Plus the weakest link on that team is now employed by University of Minnesota.
NIU is 3 pt faves

Seems about right. So this will be the 3rd time in 3 attempts that we're the favorite, although we're not a double digit lock pick (doh!) this time. It would be perfect karma for us to win. Last year's team was soooo much better than this year, but this team can accomplish something that team didn't. Similar to 2003 when that team didn't go to a bowl game but the 2004 team did.

OH ok well in that case, EMU and BSU are not the same teams as last year. EMU and BSU are actually pretty darn good football teams when you get passed the name recognition of them being typically bad. You wont find 2 more improved programs in the nation over last year than those 2 teams.

That doesn't mean we played well.
We open at 3 point favorites....
