Who do you think should win this year's MAC Football Head Coach of the Year?
Should have limited it to 4. Temple will at best match their record of last year having been given good talent and a budget 5X any MAC team Granted they may do better than Mac east 3rd but quite a low ceiling. That being said NIU gets it but a real test next year, much like the past 2 years of CMU

Good point, I considered that but last year's Temple squad was Al Golden's.

Addazio stepped in as a first year head coach and managed to not lose ground, even if they finish with the same record as last year, that is an accomplishment worthy of recognition. The level of recognition is certainly debatable, but I'm sure some think he is deserving of at least a mention for HC of the Year.

Would've made him a late scratch and put Darrel Hazel in. Hopefully he can pull one off and get to 6 on Friday
Addaizo in last place in voting, i guess other people CAN think objectiveally without you trying to shove it down people throat.
yo Con enjoy your holiday, you got BB game SUN u can use to manufacture promblems
If Addazio, then why not Hazell? Took over a more
moribund program and despite a very bad start, has the Flashes playing Friday for outright 2nd place in the East. Flashes also the only East team with a winning record (2-1) vs the West.

Of course, I wouldn't actually vote for either. I'd vote for the coach of the West rep in the MACC game except only one of them is on the list.

Huh ?
Jury's still out on Doeren. I think he'll do fine but this year he took over a very good offense and it remained good. He took over a weak, very inexperienced defense and it remained weak. They're playing a little better now. But I think it comes down to RE, Lembo, and Solich. I voted for RE.
Ron English- It is tough to turn around a near dead program. Trust me, KSU fans know about this. Although, if Hazell would have had one more early season game win, he would be on the list.
Addazio shouldn't be up there. Not that he hasn't done a decent job (minus Chester starting), but he didn't have to move many pieces around for us to continue doing well.
Solich would get my vote. Ohio could atleast say they had a honest chance to win all 12 games this year. I've never been able say that about Ohio football team but Ohio was in every game in the fourth quater this year. Two last drive loses to UB and Ball State and Rutgers game was a 1 score game midway thru 4th quarter. No other MAC team can claim they were in every game in the 4th quarter of every game they played this season except Ohio.

Interesting criteria. If you went 0-12 but were in every game does that equate to a great season or an inability to finish? Moreover, OU played the two worst teams in the West in their crossovers and lost to one of them. A team like BG that had to play NIU, Western and Toledo had a much more difficult schedule in conference and teams like Toledo and Temple a much more difficult OOC schedule. I'd say Solich did OK with this team but COY? No way. English or Doeren are the only choice in my book.
I like Lembo and English. And yes, I am biased but I love what Pete has done so far. No one would have predicted them to be bowl eligible. Pigskinpress.com predicted them to finish 0-12.
Why can we not have a tie? Lembo and English. I wish the coach of the year award was a little difference and allow for it to cover 2 years of coaching and not just one. 1 year could mean a team had a easy schedule, lucky, mostly seniors, etc..
No tie. There are quite a few you could make an argument for. If Lembo gets BSU to 7 wins, I would love to see it but you can't go wrong picking Ron English.

No doubt, I am a EMU fan so I would love for coach English to win this award but I want this award to mean something more the a year. A real man can do it 2 times.. (per my wife) 04-cheers04-cheers
Solich? I could win at least 7 games every year with OU's relatively weak OOC scheduling. Sure, he's done a fine job in Athens but I'm still waiting for a breakout year...i.e. 10-11 win season with maybe a top 25 finish. I'll give it to English at EMU. The fact that the Eagles and bowl game are mentioned in the same sentence is incredible...

Ohio had two winning seasons in the 30 years prior to Frank Solich arriving in Athens. The fact that it is believed that it's an automatic that Ohio wins 7 games is a testament to the job Frank has done. He may have done his best job of coaching this season considering all the injuries this team had especially on the defensive side of the ball. You can try to downplay what he's done all you want but he did a very good job of coaching this year.

That being said English and Lembo get the vote before Solich.
English!!!! Going 6-6 at EMU is like going undefeated at any other MAC School!!!
