Some really good things for our future.
1. We have a field goal kicker. Detmer has been AWESOME in field goals. 2 for 2 from 50 and beyond. We have NEEDED this.
2. Eric Page has garnered national attention and given this program so much exposure. I would be surprised if he doesn't get a post season award or two....and he's several receiving records for the school. People are tuning in and watching just to see him.
3. Adonis Thomas has gotten some well deserved attention as well and maybe moved himself into a late round draft pick situation. His ability to catch the ball out of the backfield is a HUGE plus.
4. Both QB's developed. I think they both improved greatly. REALLY like Owens this last week and his ability to run has shown up.
5. Anyone notice Wilcher out there? True freshmen makes a TON of tackles on kickoffs and made a few plays at corner. I think this kid is going to be really good. His height is an issue...but his ability is there. Another year could make him a star.
6. The development of Bernard Reedy has really helped the offense. He has made some plays and shown the ability to get open and catch the football. It's taken a ton of pressure off the offense and allowed us to move the football against some really good defenses.
7. I really like Myers at guard. He's seen the field a bit at TE and Fullback in running downs...good feet...likes contact...shows ability. He needs to add a bit of weight...but he's a freshmen.
