It is unfortunate, looking at pictures i thought it would be at least 15,000. Guess I can't estimate.
I was at the game, and I would have guessed about 10-11K.

Sent by my Teletype machine.
I thought Toledo had a good turnout for their game against us. Only Toledo, Ohio, and NIU have really had people show up to these weeknight games.

I don't know why anyone would expect good turnouts for these weeknight games though. Students have classes and non-students have work.

I despise weeknight games.
Im not trying to start a fire, just thought itd be an interesting topic since many NIU fans said they'd have a full stadium.

the weeknight games are awful, but its good for fans that are across the country and good for recruits and the country to see our MAC teams.
Yeah, No NIU Fans said they would have a good crowd. Most expected between 10 and 15k. It was right after the Toledo game that they said 19k wasn't the real number. They said Toledo had a good crowd, just not what we reported. Weather may have held down NIU's as well.
I wish i could say it was good exposure, but a lot of people don't even get ESPNU (like myself) and the game wasn't on ESPN3.com. If they are going to make us play weekday games then they should only be on ESPN and ESPN2.
thats what the MAC Commish is for. To negotiate a better ESPN weekday contract for our teams.

Attendance was disapointing, next friday at 10am will be even worse for NIU, its just a horrible time and day for a game with all the students gone but what can you do, as long as they win thats all that matters. NIU needs to start counting tickets sold though or come up with a new method, not picking on BGSU but I want to have some of whatever the official that counted 13,752 at that NIU game was on.
Its rather unfortunate all around for all the programs to have these games during the week and really hurts the fanbase. But I guess a lot of factors go into all games involved.

I could say Toledo would have a much higher turnout on Saturday, but who's to say that with Michigan/Ohio State playing. It just depends on too many factors, and the MAC sees the exposure and what little compensation from ESPN is more beneficial to the Saturday games.

Itd be nice if we lived in a perfect world, and Toledo always had Boise St size crowds and NIU had the same thing, as well as the rest of the teams in the conference, then much more would be talked about MAC football.
