"With potentially three games left this season, Harnish is on pace to throw for 3,301 yards and run for 1,531. If he reaches those marks, he would be the first player in college football history to throw for 3,000 yards and rush for 1,500. The closest any player has ever approached is Cam Newton's 2011 season, when he passed for 2,854 yards, rushed for 1,473 and won the Hesiman Trophy and Walter Camp Award."

My wife got a sitter for 8am so she could come.
Sounds like your wife wants to see who you're leaving her for. 03-wink
What are his stats now?
He won't win but still cool nonetheless.

When's the last time a non-AQ player won any of these awards?
Holy cow, no idea his numbers were approaching that level of milestone! I hope not lost in all this, is just how great the WR's are. Everyone talks about the strength of the NIU o-line, but we have some of the most underrated receivers in the country IMO.

Our WRs are beasts. I said it many times in the gamethread, but they amaze me more and more each game.

It would be simply amazing if he reaches those numbers.
Harnish is as deserving as anyone else in college football for the Walter Camp award or for that matter the Hesiman. Will he win either; sadly no. A MAC player might one day win one of these awards but it would need to be part of a magic season where they played for a team that went undefeated.

That said I do not believe that there is a better college football player in the country than Harnish. Perhaps some are his equal but there are none better.
count how many NFL players came from "small schools"...you will be surprised..
Weren't there a large number of MAC players on the super bowl team rosters last year?
It would have been nice if they made a PA announcement last night after the TD pass that broke the record.

I'm not trying to take anything from Harnish in the least bit, but the WR bailed him out on at least 3 throws. Just goes to show how talented they are.

Passing: Harnish - 194-303, 2594 yds, 22 tds
Rushing: Harnish - 155 car, 1203 yds, 10 tds

Cam Newton's 2010 season, when he passed for 2,854 yards, rushed for 1,473

To pass Cam, Candler needs...
261 passing yards
271 rushing yards

BEAT EMU!

Seriously we'll have to beat them like a drum next week for this to happen. Would stats from the MACC be recorded if we were to go?

Wouldnt that give him another game to do it though, if NIU wins?

A win vs EMU would give NIU/Chandler another TWO games MACC & Bowl game.

If we defeat EMU both the MACC & bowl game would count for these stats.
Beat EMU, beat the record. Simple as that.
Comcast had a short segment on him being named a finalist. Great to see him on that list with some players that are going to be drafted in the first round.

WRs made some HUGE grabs in BSU game to keep NIU alive...
Stats and pub are all the better for MAC & NIU to bowl shop Huskies and Harnish ....
After seeing this, I have to call him the best player in school history. Or at least he's having the best season in school history.
