Jake is the only player from that "era" I miss much. I think he'll be awfully good. Humes was 0-2 with a couple boards for UIC in 11 minutes the other night. We'll get to see him later this month. UIC is happy he's on their side this year- he killed them in both games last year. Well, relative to our other players and his other performances he killed them. Not sure we couldn't use his height and boarding this year after losing Moss, though.

humes got an exemption because the ncaa cut our scholarships (based on cross academic issues from previous yrs) just before the season began and humes lost his. coach k didn't run him off, the ncaa did.

Right you are. But then how did Bastfield get to be a senior? Is that just class-wise but not eligibility-wise? This would be his first year of play after leaving UT, right?

Bastfield played for UT last in 2009-2010. I am pretty gosh darn sure he played for Morgan State last year but the Morgan State website isn't helping me out.
Bastfield was a Joplin recruit who never got to play for him. He was a 1st year player in 2008-2009. Time flys!
