I'd thrown in the towel when the score was 35-17, I couldn't believe that MEMPHIS was doing this to us. That game turned into a shootout in the 4th quarter, with the Blazers doing most of the shooting! Don't be so hard on yourself, it happens.This has been a frustrating season, and I know in my case, it's easier to get discouraged when the team you root for has won up to this point, only one game (told y'all that schedule was brutal!) but this team does have pride and determination, I like that a great deal. All we need now is a coach that can show them the way to more victories and a place on campus to do it in. I don't mind telling y'all how much I hate Legion Field. It was extremely cold with a 22 mph wind at the game and My youngest son had forgotten his jacket. When we got down inside the 10 yard line and it was 4th down, I told Smaug, I'm leaving if Callaway doesn't go for it. Sure enough Callaway kicks the field goal making it 35-20. Smaug convinced me that it was a smart move because now we were within 2 scores, where if we went for it on fourth and didn't make it, we would still need three.
I said, OK, but I thought, It's cold, my son is complaining and I'm leaving if Memphis scores again.
They didn't. It's amazing how much warmer it is when your team is playing well.
