Great work gentlemen.
Nice job guys.

I do have a beef with the comments regarding attendance at EMU. EMU reports actaul attendance while other MAC schools report a fictional number (tickets sold). I've seen a lot of MAC games on TV in the past week and in every one a significantly higher attendance is reported than what is actually there. BG reported over 13K when it looked like 2-3K in the stands (definitely less than BSU/EMU last Saturday). When there are 2 different reporting methods being used you cannot compare EMU to the rest of the MAC.

Speaking of tv, I really wish EMU could construct a press box on the East side bleachers and televise the games from the east side looking west. Rynearson would look much better on tv if the camera angle caught the action looking towards the much fuller west grandstands, rather than looking at the virtually empty east stands. These are the little attention to details things that EMU has to do a better job with, you always want to put your product in the best possible light.

It would be easier to move the EMU team and all the fans to the east side of the stadium.

Either way, but if someone was tuning in, they would come away with the impression that there were 100 people at the game. Not the best way to impress a recruit or to lure fans to the game, because as we know, nothing attracts a crowd like a crowd.

TWN, first off EMU vacillates between sold and butts in the seats... But I digress.

No team in the MAC is pulling less than 8-10K per game no matter how you measure.

In terms of ACTUAL attendance I'd bet that most MAC games have fewer than 10K. Most people don't pay attention when 6K people is reported as 12K.

EMU should just do the creative counting method every year. Oh wait...then they'll get criticized for that. Gotta love double standards.
For comparison, EMU's actual physical butts-in-seats attendance in 2010, as subsequently reported to the Board of Recent, averaged 6,400. This year EMU is averaging almost 1/3 less, despite a more successful team. http://easterneagles.wordpress.com/2010/...-for-2010/

Problem is the concessions and everything is on the west side.

What is the sun like for September evening games?

That said, I have NEVER been on the east side.

What we need is for ESPN to do our games and brink a mobile camera (the ones high up on the mobile device) and place is around the goal line on the east stands (near the Convo).

Yep, you could even construct a makeshift camera platform right around the East 50 yard line for game days. Those who sit on the east side, sit around the 50 yd line so you'd capture close ups of those folks, including Superfan in a concentrated area and then the entire west stands, where alot of great things are going on; the band, cheerleaders, student section, press box, team, coaches, and the vast majority of the audience.

Appearances are everything. If I'm Dr. Gragg, I would absolutely insist on it! It's perfect for TV to as it would better capture the whole football experience.

Eastern is doing some great things, I hope they take my advice again (Like they did when they painted the upper rim green).
I agree with you, Bob.

I'm surprised MAC schools haven't done something like it. (some MAC stadia are easier to install or create a photographer's 'perch').

I still say EMU could use a mobile perch much like the NFL uses for their games. I'd have no problem if it was stationary - located in the SE corner of the endzone - to take camera shots of plays coming toward the Convo (south end zone).
I think at the 50-yard line on the east side, the sun will be an issue on some (many?) shots, but I'd think the southeast corner should work.

Southeast would be good.

Camera shots would concentrate at a 45 degree angle and would be mostly the northern half of the field (from the 50 yard line to the end zone at the north end which is where most fans, students and the band are).

The east side is much better than west except in one area parking, there isn't any. We have 4 bathrooms 2 mens 3 womens, 2 concessions could be opened as well. There is also areas for storage if needed. In reality they could inclose the whole area with canvase. If you look at it with an open mind there are tons of possibilities.05-stirthepot
