That's great! I guess keeping it in Charlotte works after all.
Getting that game out of Florida and putting it in the geographic center of the conference was a great move by the ACC.
Florida was a mistake. Charlotte's central location seems to make it a common sense choice. Generally what is the temperature that time of year?
Can't wait for Syracuse to be in the ACC. The possibility of playing in a conference championship game is exciting.

If 10k go out to the two schools in the championship game every year, then that's a good way to guarantee a sellout. Any of the ACC schools can easily sell 10k.
Already got my ticket.

I'd say about 60 F +/- 10

Nah. Big game for Va. Tech tonight. Go Hokies!
By product of the fact we'll have one of the following as a match-up:

Clemson vs. Georgia Tech
Clemson vs. Virginia Tech
Clemson vs. Virginia

...unless we end up with Wake Forest vs. Virginia Tech ;-)

FAIL
Only teams eligible: vt, uva, clemson, wake, fsu!
I might get me a ticket! Being at the ECU and S. Car game their and ECU and Virginia Tech game in 08 was both great experiences.
Most likely it will be Virginia Tech and Clemson. Which wont be a bad matchup
consider this: if Clemson & Va Tech both win out*... both are already top 10, both are "football first" schools, and the stadium is guaranteed a sellout. What an awesome championship game!

* (admittedly both have tough games left)
And it will be a travesty that Clemson is in the championship game when they were credited with a touchdown that they should not have, which made a huge difference in the game. 01-lauramac2

Quote:THE GAME: Wake Forest at Clemson

THE SITUATION: Clemson had the ball, second-and-goal at the Wake Forest 7-yard line with 1:30 left in the third quarter. Wake Forest led 28-14.

THE PLAY: Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd completed a 7-yard pass to Brandon Ford for a touchdown. After a review, the touchdown stood as called.

MY TAKE: There will be a lot of discussion about this play this week. Yes, Ford had a foot down with possession of the ball, but he also came from out of bounds. My Twitter account blew up. The referee announced after the review that the ruling on the field stood. By making that announcement, he left some questions dangling. Touching of a pass is reviewable, and one would have to assume that replay looked at the fact Ford was out of bounds, essentially making him ineligible. If he is the first to touch the pass, it is a 5-yard penalty for illegal touching. That’s what should have been called. The only possible reason for this not to be a foul is if Ford was pushed out of bounds before he came back in bounds. By the replays I saw, it did not appear Ford had been pushed. It’s going to be an interesting week in the ACC, especially because Clemson came back to win 31-28.

It is sad that ACC football officials are as incompetent as the basketball refs. It is time for the conference to clean house from Swofford on down...
Lucy, I agree with you -- the Clemson receiver was out-of-bounds (and not FORCED either), then failed to re-establish himself inbounds before catching the pass.

I just KNEW it was going to be overturned. Heck, I even explained it to my football UNSAVY wife who understood the matter at hand.
