What an awesome performance by Cutler and his teammates.

I wooda wagered PHIL would have more than covered the spread.

The Bears are the most baffling team Ive ever come across. Urlacher and Briggs just basically said, we arent losing today. I think all this talk about age finally got to them. Just when I want Lovie's head, the Bears pull out a win they shouldnt, happens every time. I dont know how the team wins with what they have but they do. I think its a testament to the on the field leadership of a few defensive players.
And an ENTIRE GAME without Cutler being sacked? Wow! Just wow.
I'm with you both - I never thought they'd pull this win off but they honestly played very well last night. Makes you wonder why the hell they don't play well ALL the time.
I was personally very happy to see Michael Vick get ground into the turf over and over....they could have kept that up all night IMO. Michael Vick is a man with no heart. Anyone who could do what he did to defenseless animals has no heart and no soul. And yes , he went to prison for it, but you can't change who he is deep inside. To do that in the first place is beyond comprehension.

Sorry - a little off topic - but I am a true animal lover... and hater of M.Vick.

Always good to see Vick lose I agree HFA!

And some kudos to Lovie for finally switching things up and deserting the Cover 2 at crucial points in the game. Im glad he finally got over the stubborness.
i was completely shocked last night.. That Eagles DL is good, especially those ends and they were taken out of the game.

Sunday's game vs Detroit is HUGE.. It's real nice to hold tiebreakers against PHI and ATL too. Could make the difference between a wild card position.

I think a big change was the offensive plays that are being called. Martz has been stubborn at the beginning of each season and Cutler was getting killed the beginning of the last 2 seasons. The Oline has improved, but he is leaving a lot more people back to block and Cutler has a great arm when he has time. Why does it take so long for Martz to change?
For some reason, I wasn't stunned the Bears won that game.

Not so much because I have great faith in the Bears, but because I felt it was a great style matchup and the Eagles just aren't that good as a team. They have great skill guys, but their less flashy spots (the O and D lines) aren't very good. Even if you have great corners, they can't cover forever. Even if you have a good QB, if he's dodging bullets all game it's hard for him to be effective.

What I loved about the game is that Jay Cutler looked like a player. He was Favre-esque (and I've always been a Favre hater, so it pains me to compliment him). He had swagger and came through repeatedly in tough situations (broken plays and third downs). It's amazing what he can do if he gets a little blocking and has a trustworthy target and a running game. I really hope the Bears invest in another target for him. I've never thought all that highly of Greg Olsen, but clearly he's missed (or at least having a second reliable recieving option is missed, anyway).

I think the Bear have a couple very reliable receivers - but they continue to use the unreliable Devon Hester and let Greg Olson go - for what? A TE that can block? I haven't seen much blocking or accurate receiving from K. Davis. I thought Greg Olson did a nice job for the Bears and was reliable to receive. Then the Bears put money into Roy Williams? I see NOTHING from that guy. He misses or drops a ton more than he actually catches. They're trying to "force" a connection between Cutler and Williams ...have Williams be the go to guy for Cutler. I don't see any chemistry there. I do see it with Bennett & Knox. Would like to see Sam Hurd given a real shot. I have every confidence he's be better than Hester!

Johnny Knox, Earl Bennett ....both very reliable. So glad to see Bennett back!
Devon Hester and Roy Williams are comical as receivers.

It hasn't worked out yet, but I understand why the Bears traded Olsen. He contract was up at the end of the year and a third round pick is pretty good compensation for him. They clearly shouldn't have invested too heavily in a guy that Martz wouldn't use right. That was the disturbing part to me; they committed to Martz. Yikes.

Davis was actually mauling guys last night. I personally thought he'd show us more than he has this year...hopefully he will.

Williams was a rather cheap one year gamble and gave the bears a different type of reciever, if he cares (he doesn't care enough, clearly).

Hester will always be Hester. He'll drive you crazy then stun you with brilliance. He has gotten a little better....but I don't think he'll ever be consistent.

Hurd has pretty much hit his ceiling to me. He's a good special teamer and a guy you can throw out there on multi-reciever sets but is never going to be a top 3 reciever/starter on a good team. To be fair, he hasn't has much of a chance, but I personally think that when multiple teams don't start you, there's probably a good reason.

Knox gets a little to droppy for me, but man can he run. He doesn't catch the ball with his hands; he lets it hit his chest and it drives me crazy.

I'd love for the bears to find a roy williams body-type but one that cares. A big, reliable WR target would be wonderful.
