STEVE BELL HAS PUBLISHED A LISTING OF 19 DIV ONE MICHIGAN PLAYERS WHO HAVE COMMITTED TO DATE WITH THE LOI DAY THIS COMING WEDS. NOTICEABLY ABSENT ARE ANY PLAYERS THAT HAVE COMMITTED TO EMU. WHAT GIVES?

IN ALL THE YEARS THAT I'VE FOLLOWED EMU HOOPS, IT HAS NEVER BEEN SO QUIET!
My guess, is that this year everyone is looking for the 'lost pearl' somewhere in Michigan.

It is very possible that the staff may be going hard for the 'Cuse 'B' recruting targets whom they identified last year.

Who has sources in N.Y. state, Pa, N.J., etc? (I certainly don't).

I'd guess almost all of the signees in November and April could be players we've (and Steve Bell) never heard off.

I'm expecting the unexpected...

I'd love to have a Syracuse transfer if there are any... Just a wish. I haven't looked at the 'Cuse roster.
Here is the "cuse" list for 2012, not many B recruit type players:

our staff is new and had a late start on recruiting. i don't expect much from this class, and i definitely don't expect any recruits via the traditional routes (local, contact with the kid for the past 2+ years, etc). i assume our recruits from this class will be the most leftfield of all coach murphy recruits.

edit: for some reason, it's changing "mur.phy" to "that guy". not sure why. someone being clever?

I had the same problem...
Murpy's reputation at Syracuse was that of a recruiter. I'm sure he has found that recruiting for Syracuse was a much, much easier job than recruiting for good ol EMU.

He hired a staff with reputedly a lot of Michigan and Midwest contacts and I for one expected the staff to hit the ground running in regards to recruiting. But to date - NOT SO. We have lost a lot of local kids to other programs and have not received any verbals to date. It has been very quiet.
Dear Friends,
This, to me, is like the football recruiting, of English's first two years. It's not that possible recruits don't know of the new basketball coach, but they really don't know what Eastern may do this year, especially when Eastern's record for the last few years, has not been an endorsement for the program. I hate to say it, but I think this year is going to be somewhat lean in the recruiting area. If, Eastern has a .500 season, record wise, and Coach Murphy and his assistants, are communicating that season number two should be a better year because of who will be waiting in the wings, then, Eastern should do well recruiting. As people say, basketball is easier to turn around, because you only need a few good players, to do it.

Dennis equates no information with no activiity.

Just because we don't know about it, doesn't mean it ain't happening...

It just apparently isn't happening in Michigan now.

We have 8 days for a few gems to fax their LOI to the Convo.
