If this has been repeatedly addressed, I apologize but I would be remiss not to mention the fact that the big city of Toledo and their die hard faithful (and their enormous program w huge backing) just helped to make our conference look bush league on national tv. Those fans dressed as empty seats was putrid.

What happened to the sell-out crowd or even the near sell-out crowd. You had Toledo's 'best team in history' v their 'non-rival' in the 'pay-back' game AT HOME ON NATIONAL TV WITH CONFERENCE READY TO BE WRAPPED UP and this is what Toledo brings?! The camera crew had an impossible time making it appear packed.

Look at our Toledo game last year or of years passed. Mid-week, cold or not.

The Toledo program, the city....a complete failure. Sorry. Not tyring to be rude, just honest. This was a shinng moment for the program (and you haven't had many lately...be honest) and they bleeew it.

And, then they lose. Again. To us.
Our weekday attendance sucks too. Heck, our attendance for this year sucks. I think 19k attendance would be our 2nd best attendance of the year.

The students and community need to step up and support us the last two home games.
What was the attendance for this game?

24, but half of them were band members laying on the field, so it only looked like 12.

LOL
A FULL YES...WE NEED TO STEP IT UP FOR OUR LAST TWO GAMES (WONT HAPPEN), BUT simply referring to Toledo and their situation...if the shoe was on our foot...yes, even as meek as we can be...we would have packed HS...we have in the past.

And the argument always is that Toledo is the mecca of the MAC with their big city $. That's the argument. It lacks merit and proof of that shined last night.

Did I actually read that the press box suites ect were full. Seriously. That's a real argument. How many does that hold? Puuuhllleeaase.

WHAT WAS THE ATTENDANCE!
The attendance was 19k.
I would put the real attendance, not counting suites (they can probably hold close to 700 people my best guess) at closer to 12 or 13 thousand. Student section was lacking, I was on 50 yd line and there were 8 empty rows in front of me and UT's side was half to two thirds full.

So they did about 2k better than we did last year under just about the same circumstances. It only looked worse on TV because of their seating arrangement on the lower level of the "visitor" side.

I was expecting more because the Toledo fans were claiming a sellout but it was a decent weekday crowd for a MAC game especially without a top 25 team.

The economy is rough and college football is nowhere on peoples priority list right now. The exposure is what the weekday games a for not the attendance.

So you would say that all the people at that game wouldn't fill the West side at HS? It seemed like more then that.
19k is accurate. The fan plan seats (upperdeck) on the away side were totally full like usual. NIU fans at the game probably couldn't see that. Or didn't take into consideration the press boxes held almost 2k.
The city of Toledo does not support the universities athletics. No reason with the size of the city along with the surrounding areas, that stadium doesn't draw over 25,000 a game

That's kind of my thought with 500k+ living within 30 minuets or less of our stadium.
I don't know if the word doesn't get out to alumni that the team is having a good year or what. We should have had more people at our games last year and this year - lots of those were Saturday games with nice weather. At least this one was a weekday, I still thought there would be more though.

I'm just pissed at the students. I hate that so many people don't give a **** about college football. Or if they do it's O$U and Michigan. I mean I'm an O$U fan second, but if both play on the same day hell yes I choose Toledo. Our fricken students would watch O$U pregame rather than walk a quarter mile to the GB for a Rockets game.
Attendance was great all year, until this ******* Tuesday game. I hate ESPN, get rid of their contracts and let's play every game on Saturdays at 7:00.

But 19k is definantly accurate. I have pictures on my phone, and I'd say at the beginning of the 2nd quarter, that many were in their seats.
Poor attendance is a problem for all MAC teams. I watched some of the Miami homecomming game last weekend which was played in front of a half empty stadium. Miami has a rich football tradition and should be able to draw a better crowd than that on homecomming.

The MAC conference and its member institutions need to step it up if they want to be taken seriously and if they want to be paid a decent amount for television coverage. Football broadcasts in front of half empty stadiums are not must see TV. A large and active crowd adds value.

So, officially the Glass Bowl capacity is 26,248 and you're telling me there were 19K in the stands last night? No, not even close.

That just about sums it up. The game should have been blacked out as well. The fan plan seats (away upper deck) are always packed. They shouldn't be selling tickets that cheap as that is all anyone is buying anymore. Promotion for the game was VERY lacking. Many people here have no clue what the team is doing.

Lightly that is our capacity... but it's not. Boise State was full, and wasn't (extra Packed) with standing room. And there was about 29k. That is a closer number to capacity.
