Wednesday, oct26 from 6-8pm at eduardo's in dekalb. Meet mark montgomery and kathi bennett. Event is free and open to public. Free appetizers and a cash bar. This year, I hope we can get more niu fans to attend than niu employees. Fans can energize both players and coaches so please attend if u can!
I might be able to go, depending on when I get away from work. Thanks for the info.
Like several other such events hosted by NIU athletics, I learned of it rather late having made two other interelated commitments tonite I cannot break a second time.
The bball kick-off party was a huge success. There was double the crowd than last year. The bball buzz is alive and well. Monty, said they probably will take there lumps early but hopes to be much better come conference time. He said, " the freshman need to send toler and storm out as winners". It also was great to see more fans than niu employee's attend.
Just curious, during the WMU halftime interview with MM, Monty mentioned Dre Henley. Is there anymore info on him being back on the team or is he gone forever?

Nice comment about Toler and Storm. I know that coaches always say this about their seniors but these guys stayed with the program and made the best of a bad situation. Both of them seem to be high character guys.

03-lmfao That's exactly what I was thinking!
We don't want guys like them on our team! They suck! They have done nothing! They add nothing! Why did we keep them around? We should have cleared the roster and brought in only 4 and 5-star players!

Toler has shown he can play at this level last season. Look where he ranked in the conference (que the MAC quality argument thread.... again...) Storm, in my opinion, showed as a freshmen that he should have been good enough to play at this level. I really don't know enough to explain what the issue was the past 2 years and probably never will but even at times he showed to me he should have played a lot more. He was recruited enough and showed enough for me to think he was worthy. To have them as character guys as well to help lead the turn-around in this foundation season is a bonus in my mind. It's tough to have to be the ones to lay the foundation and not get to enjoy the results later. They obviously "want" to be here and be Huskies.
