In a contest for who could put two big jerks on the air at the same time, The Fan selected Fillipponi as the host of the Ryan Clark show.
This week, Clark called Fillipponi out for making what he considered a stupid comment about him head butting Troy Polamalu after Polamalu made a hit and was experiencing concussion like symptoms. You can listen to what Clark said in the link I provide at the bottom of this post.
What a jerk! Admittedly, I've never been a big Clark fan and kind of never understood the love for him in Pittsburgh but he really has an overinflated ego. I'm also not a big Fillipponi fan because he does badger people who call his show and twist their words around in ways which bends their intent but the bottom line is that he's a radio personality. He does this as a member of the media who relies on people listening to his show and so to a certain extent the callers know what they're getting into and he also probably isn't 100% like this in real life. Either way, Clark made the situation super uncomfortable and I was pretty impressed with how Fillipponi handled it.
If you haven't listened, do so. It's really interesting and it's right at the beginning of the recording. Clark even references his friends in high places at the radio station and mentions he probably would have gotten a different host for his show if he had the power.
