Sagarin conference numbers for week 7

MWC (65.18)
CUSA (63.98)
WAC (62.80)
MAC (61.45)
SBC (57.31)

-The teams are now well connected.

-The MWC takes another big hit this week as New Mexico was blasted by Nevada.

Sagarin numbers post merger & Realignment

MAC (61.13)
Merger (59.75)*
SBC (56.72)
WAC (55.92)

*Boise, Air Force, Houston, SMU, UCF are removed from the merger calculations.

-All non-AQ conference will be taking a hit by the time 2013 rolls around. The MAC however will be taking a very slight hit by adding a FCS upgrade in UMASS. The same with the SBC by adding a brand new FCS program in South Alabama.

-The average ranking of the merged conference isn't very high as it is (64.50). Without the rumored schools for the BE in the mix the merger can hardly be distinguished from an FCS conference.

There is no way the merger qualifies under an AQ system with defections. Its only hope is if the B12 and ACC raid, reducing the BE down to 2 schools (UC, USF) which are forced to join the merger. In that situation MAYBE the merger would have an argument but I highly doubt it.

I think it's cool how high our top 3 teams are right now. If two of our top three win out, we may have two top 30 teams until the MACC. Temple is the only team with a BCS or AP top 25 shot tho.
