SMU, UCF, Navy, Temple, etc.?

Do we proceed "aggressively"? Or do we wait for the Mizzou, Louisville, WVU dramas to conclude?

I'm guessing that we'll wait until all the dust settles around the nation and then no schools get enough votes.
I can't speak on the others but I would be shocked if Navy agrees to come on board untill it knows who will actually be in the league.

Jackson
Now that another bomb has just gone off, why would any school seriously consider coming to the BE?
The basketball supposedly agreed to let the footballs do whatever they had to to keep the conference together. Well the lipmus test for this is to invite Temple as an all sports school. If the basketball schools so much as hesitate, then they are not sreious about the future of football. At that point the footballs need to run for the exits before antoher one gets picked off.
UH, ECU, UCF, Navy, and Air Force would be terrific additions. We'll probably add Memphis and Villanova though.
No one is coming aboard until they know if anything will be around to board
Navy isn't going to join until they know the Big East will exist in a year.
Slow down.....a vote.....are you kidding? We are still working on our press release after the TCU news. The official comment out of the BE offices today when asked for comment was "No Comment"....that probably took a few hours to come up with......prior to that.....they just didn't answer the phones.

I would imagine....they will devise a press release....Marinatto will spend a day or so to pratice reading it.....then a meeting will be set for a few weeks from now....probably at a Resort in the Hamptons....

You get the idea......

Knowing the BE fearless leader - after all the FB schools are gone. 05-stirthepot 03-puke 03-banghead 03-melodramatic 04-jawdrop 04-chairshot 05-stirthepot 04-cheers
At this point, it is readily apparent we will be down to 5 schools, and these 5 will have nowhere else to go.

We need AT LEAST 3 schools added to the league, probably more like 5. Depending on what the Big East basketball schools want to do, it would not surprise me if there is a split. I don't think they'll let us add 3-5 schools from CUSA/MAC. This is assuming, of course, that Army, Navy, and Air Force say no, as they've been suggesting recently.

Why would you think that? That's exactly what happened last time when UL, UC, and USF were added.

Fair enough. As a USF fan, I was seeing it from a different perspective the last time, as a school on the outside.

The way I see it though, Louisville and Cincinnati were tolerable for the Big East due to their basketball heritage, and USF was tolerable because it kept the Big East in Florida. This time around, it would likely be a second Florida school with no basketball heritage, a North Carolina school with no basketball heritage, and a school with a basketball heritage that a non-FB school (Villanova) will do everything it can to block. I just think there might be more of a revolt from the non-FB side this time. I hope I'm wrong.

Nova, Umass, Buffalo.
Well it appears that Temple and UCF are commited to being good in all sports so I don't see the problem with those two. For the purpose of the BE's present problem.....Villanova football plays absolutely no role either way because they can't even come on board until 2015. Our problem specifically is 2014.....and upgrading our play on the fieild this and the next two seasons.
