How about a thread where we can put stuff which we are pretty sure is NOT fact, but we'd like to see happen:

Rob Bolden, PSU QB, almost transferred from PSU during spring.

Wonder if he will transfer after this season and would consider EMU? I believe we have one of his former teammates on our roster.

Robert Gregory, QB Chicago Simeon, verballed to Arkansas but I'm not convinced that he will sign on the dotted line.

I'm still holding out for Gregory and LB Joyner from Chi. Simeon joining their teammates, Scott and Reed.

I'd like to see either QB at EMU or a three star QB from California.
The Big Ten could qualify as many as 10 teams for bowls, thereby ensuring a team for the Little Caeser's Bowl game.

My guess is that WMU or Toledo could be the MAC representative and it would be an attractive game.

EMU is probably two years away from getting one of the three guaranteed MAC bowl games.

Playing a Big Ten team in that bowl game would be great for EMU. PR value would be tremendous.
This one is wishful thinking.

I'd like to see the Rynearson scoreboard relocated to sit on top of the football building to be more visible from the home side stands.

How much would that cost????
We have a transfer sitout (this is apparently fact - think he is from Howard).

Curious if we'll start getting Big Ten transfers into the program based on the ties we have with the English staff?
I'd like to see English and Snow get three more JUCO LBs from So. California. 03-cloud9
I'd like to see EMU start, if possible, each football season with a I-AA home game like Alabama State or Southern. I saw Southern/Florida A&M on television and they had a GREAT band.

I wonder if EMU could have an outdoor concert at Rynearson AFTER a game (one of the September games) featuring a name act?

(fans coming to the football game get in with the game admission. Those entering after half-time would pay a steeper concert admission).

Bands will not do Rynearson. The echo is terrible. I've talked to the Convo people about it.

I thought of that. The accoustics can be brutal.

We desperately need a scoreboard at the south end of the stadium. I've never heard of a D1 stadium with just 1 scoreboard. Didn't U-M recently sell or give away one of their old scoreboards? The EMU admin should use one of their contacts and get a nice used scoreboard. Former AD Gene Smith is over at OSU, I bet he'd be willing to help out his old school.
Wishful thinking

I would like to see EMU alumni come to more games.

I would love for EMU to have a place inside where fans can come and meet the players after the game where they interact with people.

I would love a WEMU pre & post game show.

I would love for old alumni to have a area similar to this area, where we can contact each other for recruits in their area. example: I am in IL and can checkout the chicagoland area.

I would love for a better score board, EMU sucks.

I would love for a the fans who tailgate to come inside.

I would love for EMU to recruit taller WR's to create mismatches.

I would love for us to follow kids who were recruited highly and attended a college but for whatever the reason are not getting the love or PT at their 1st choice school promised.

I would love for RE to not allow his commitment to some players to affect the season.

Rumors:
players on the offense are divided about who should be the QB
Coaches on the staff are divided about who should be the QB
There are finger pointing on the defense about who should be playing in the secondary
Players are saying White is the better then the starting RB's Brumfield is said to also be the fastest runners among the RB's
WR K. Thomas shoulder is a real problem.
The players who are hurt really are hurt (this is not a rumor)... (enough said)
T. Allen need to be the WR and stop running him on that hand-off run (Brumfield would be better)
Where is Henderson (DE) what happened to him
When will we start pressing the WR in short yardage and take away the inside route.
When will RE put out a real weekly depth chart that is correct?

I Will stop for now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Time to think outside the box. We need to even out the crowd. Having all the fans in the west side stands is a bad idea. The whole notion of home, away seating is stupid. Rynearson is OUR house. Here's what I would do.

1. I would have tailgaiting on both the east and west entrances of the stadium.
2. I would have cheerleaders on both sides of the stadium and I would split up the band so that half are on each side.
3. I would try to get a 50/50 split of fans entering either side of the stadium. Having only 1 side of a stadium 1/3 full looks silly.
4. We could have the students on one side, an alumni section on the other side, maybe get some groups into the stadium: youth football leagues, corporate ticket giveaways, etc.
5. For this plan to work we need AT LEAST 10,000 at every game: 5,000 fans on each side. Consider, we had less than 4,000 total yesterday in the stadium. To do this it's going to take a smart marketing program and a lot of work. But having an entire side of a stadium vacant cannot go on any longer.

Any thoughts?

Brilliant! Why didn't I think of that?!
I wish for better and more handicapped seating and have it marked as such. Out of 30,000 seats only 64 are for the handicapped and only 8 of those are good seats.

As someone who has managed bands in the past, let me assure you that if the band is paid, it will play.

We are talking about bands that have national or international following not local bands.

"We" are? OK. I should clarify that I have been more of a booking agent than a manager. I have never booked local acts. But you could get a regional act or well-known blues act in there with a support band or two and they would play. Trust me.

maybe we could but they would sound terrible no matter how good they are. Rynearson was not made to have music played in it.
i would get rid of the track around the field and bring the stands closer
