Wonder why a sports outlet on the internet would feel the need to change their name, namely since they are so popular with such a vast following?

No. ESPN3 still exists. The internet platform to watch games on ESPN3 and all other ESPN networks is called Watch ESPN.

Nice try though.

Sorry oh wise one one and defender of ESPN3. I will resphrase:

Last night, I logged on to ESPN3.COM and a message came up that redirected me to this watchespn page. I never go that message before.

Today, I type espn3.com and it goes straight to http://espn.go.com/watchespn/index/_/source/espn3/

So bascially the page/address "espn3.com" does not exist on it's own any more.

And yes, the name espn3 was confusing I am guessing to people with less intelligence than brad. This will provide one place to view programs on the net, and the name says it all.
I herd something about this after the Army game. I thought it was strange they were rebranding the site AFTER college football season started.
This has been known for a while. ESPN has a mobile app called WatchESPN available for some customers (Time Warner and some others). Their plan is to extend that system just like they did ESPN3 a couple years ago so people would be able to watch on their phones, tablets etc.
mine still has espn3 in the url, I dont know what you are talking about, and the link you have above has espn3 at the end of it. The site is called espn3, but they branded it as Watch ESPN so people would know they could watch all the games here on the internet.
You would think someone is insulting your own child, the way some people react defensively to negative comments about espn3! hah

Speaking of ESPN, I found it SICKENING, how Herbstreit has spent the last 3 hours saying Wisconsin doesnt deserve a BCS title shot because of their schedule, while if it was OSU, you KNOW FOR A FACT he would be on board, hahaha shameful

You mean the guy that moved his family from Columbus to Nashville because of threats from OSU fans who thought he wasn't be enough of a homer?

He loves the Buckeyes.
3 hours and 4 calls to Comcast and we finally got "the tres" hooked up to the tv. I don't care if we're playing the Ice Crew, that's the last time I'm doing that.

Comcast had to help you? What did the do? At home I use my xbox but I was at my parents so I just plugged an HDMI cable into the laptop and used that.
Internet was crashing. Modem kept going out. Plus, each time we called, you get different instructions from each person you talk to.

Point being, despite what our AD says, this is not TV.

And despite the handful of nimrods on this board that maintain the same.

At least the espn3 experience is over until the EMU game!
