Which conference battle reigns supreme in your eyes?

Kent State vs Akron - Great battles for the Wagon Wheel trophy, absolute best ticket around when the two play basketball. These two fan bases are separated by a mere 14 miles who, though either side hates to admit it, have friends on the other side.

Miami vs Ohio - The ultimate "classic" rivalry in the MAC, the schools play for the Battle of the Bricks in honor of their respective campuses featuring a predominant number of old red brick buildings. Plus both schools have a lot of attitude: Miami (preppy) and Ohio (party).

Toledo vs Bowling Green - Two traditional powers in football separated by 20 miles. These two schools have nothing but udder contempt for each other. They play for the Peace Pipe trophy but their meetings are anything but. 'nuff said!

Central Michigan vs Western Michigan - Rivals from their days in Division II, their competition is one in the spirit of oneupmanship. Trophy: the Cannon, One thing they have in common: neither is too concerned with Eastern.
I don't think WMU was ever DivII. We have been in the MAC since 1948 and I don't think they divided schools up that way back then.

You guys can figure out who's feeding whom, and how much contempt is involved.

My mistake, maybe it was Central who was once D-II. I might have seen that somewhere.

None of the Above.
NIU vs. Toledo. 02-13-banana

It is not a rivalry unless both sides view it as so!
Further, it takes longer than 10 years to create enough back and forth games as to equal a rivalry. NIU has only been competitive since the early 2000s, before that they where lower than EMU (literally). 03-nutkick
I'd like to say its the OHIO v Miami rivalry because of their history but I get a sense that lately its become a little lopsided with Miami fans seeming to lose interest and not be as into it as bobcat fans are.
Temple Fans vs All Other MAC Fans is the best rivalry!!

i'd be willing to keep losing some luster off of the rivalry if it means we keep beating them in football like we have the PAST FIVE YEARS!

Damn you.
I just had to vote CMU-WMU, but I have really enjoyed the Toledo-BGSU rivalry as well (which I have attended twice). I've never been to either of the other two games.
In football who has the closest records between the rivals (all-time series)?

In men's basketball it's always been KSU and Akron, we can all except that.
But on the womens side of it, Toledo vs. BG has been the best two teams the previous 2 years? And is shaping up to be that way this winter I assume. Definantly the most attended of womens MAC game of anyone in the conference. (5k in 2010, 4k in 2009) Savage Arena will be hopping this year as well, with the fan base still crazy from the WNIT ship run.

Not sure about the others, but BG leads the all-time series against Toledo 39-32-1, however, since 1969 the series is tied 21-21.
I voted Kent - Akron. It's clearly the best rival in basketball, and although neither is strong in football, it still seems to be an important game in that sport, with a trophy and all. I don't feel as though any of the other rivalries are hot in both sports.

I think WMU - CMU is the best football rivalry. I used to think it was BG-Toledo, but it seems BG fans have grown a bit docile in all sports recently.

I wish Ohio - Miami was a bigger rivalry. In football Miami's tradition and Ohio's recent string of success could make for interesting contests, but terrible game scheduling has hampered this rivalry. I will say this, during basketball season, there is no better big time college basketball atmosphere in the MAC than the Miami @ Ohio game.
