USF's traditional meltdown begins after a fast start. 05-mafia
USF usually gets to 5-0 or 6-0 before melting down.
I see this game as a must win for Pitt. If we can't win this one it's highly unlikely we can win the Big East.
Hail to PITT!
Let's go Pitt!
Off topic, but ---

Can we convince Pitt to revert to the Mark May/Dan Marino uniforms (and especially the helmets) when they join the conference?

There is a faction of the Pitt fan base that is still calling for that now in our 14th season since the switch. Those were the uniforms when I was at Pitt and would love to see them again.
High Octane is finally showing a peak preview in the burgh!
What, no ACC chant? 03-lmfao

A non-Pitt fan who is a "Scripter". Hahahahaha

I, too, long for a return to the script and old colors - even the non-matching mustard helmets.

A proud Scripter since the move to the current colors.

Hail to Pitt!

I listened to the Panthers' radio coverage on-line, so I didn't hear the TV audio.

Serious question, did the student section cheer 'ACC' at any point during the game? I would think they would save it for the final BE game of the year - against SYRACUSE of course.: )

Yes, I turn daaahn the saaahnd, and turn up Biwwwly and Pat (just like Biwwwly and Tuuunch for the Stillers). My Yinzer Brothers will understand this reference. For others, the Steelers have to lead the league in muting the TV audio and listening to the radio coverage during games. I believe this is part of the reason why there is NOW a 5-20 second delay between radio and TV coverage for NFL. Wasn't like that ~10 years ago. I would assume the same is for Pitt games. Always has been for me - for away games and listening on the radio at the games.

To answer everyone's question, there was 0 ACC chants tonight. A couple of kids filled into other sections as people went home due to the rain. A few said ACCeeya
I think that a large chunk of our fan base wants our old uniforms back. The university does everything they can to suppress it, though. As an example of this you can only buy merchandise with the old colors/logo at the Petersen Center or Heinz Field. Nike makes all kinds of stuff with that logo on it but you can't just go to the mall and buy it. It's ridiculous.

I do think that someday we will probably revert to that. I hope that day comes sooner rather than later but I doubt it. Our AD is the one who originally helped make the change back in the 1990s and there are two things he's good at - 1. turning people off who have previously supported the program and 2. changing things for no apparent reason. He got run out of Nebraska for doing mostly the same thing except they have people who donate and can call the shots and we don't.
I actually like the current Pitt uniforms better. Maybe if they just reverted back to the old style Pitt logo. I like the gold better than that mustard kind of color.

As mush as I enjoyed those uni's Curtis Martin wore back in the 90's. I like these new Jersey's. Maybe put a script helmet w/ the current colors or somethin.

As much as I love the script Pitt look in the 70s and 80s - the 90s era with Paul Hackett was way to yellow and the blue way to light - it's not coming back. Block PITT will remain for the next 20 years or so. I like the current blue in the uniforms, so to make them look "right", they need go to old gold (which is the official color for the school) and put a blue stripe down the center of the helmet. This combo, IMO, is what Pitt's uniforms will look like long term.

+1. I like the unis, just go back to the script on the current gold helmet.
I would support putting the script on the current helmets and adding the stripe that it used to have.
