How long does it take between signing up and when service gets turned on?
seems like it was that week when we did it, but its been a couple of years now. signed up as soon as it was available in our part of the world.
there were about 15 other people in line turning in their comcast boxes when i showed up to turn mine in.

Check their website, I'll bet highpoint has it. The lady I got to (after getting stuck in IVR hell for 30 minutes) was the smartest call center person I've ever talked to.

There's no doubt she'll be promoted - I asked here very specific, very technical questions and she answered all of them to my absolute satisfaction.
Comcast goes down daily during the week. Even if uverse can keep my Internet up 6/7 days a week, they are 1/3rd of the cost of comcast - with the same exact service/channels, faster speed, and 2 extra DVRs.
The proof will be in the execution, but I so loathe comcast at this point that Im willing to look past the wait and hiccups in the first month.

My mother was all signed up for uverse until I pointed out that CSS isn't available. She would go crazy if she missed the Tiger basketball games so she negotiated a huge drop on her comcast bill.

I'll be @ home games and go to the bar for CSS away games. I don't care if uverse is run by Moammar Gadhafi, I just want Comcast out of my house.

Comcast is the best. I love it.
Got moved up to the top of the engineering queue thanks to the uverse contact I made on the phone yesterday. It's amazing what being nice and doing a simple favor gets you.

Turning in my Comcast equipment was one of the happiest moments of my year.
I hate Comcast with a passion. I despise AT&T about equally.
I understand UVerse is now in 38111, but not sure where you all live. When I decide to go back to owning a television, I will definitely go UVerse.
But for now, it's going to all home games and going to my favorite Tiger bar for CSS.
