Its being discussed on the CUSA board so I thought I'd post the article link here:

I'm in favor of this move. I think it would be huge. I'd like to know how we would share the revenue of the BCS berth if we could get one.

I hope we would share it evenly with all the members of both leagues. Yes, that wouldn't be a huge payday, but it would be a consistent significant sum that we could count on annually.
Sharing a TV contract?

No thanks.
It is better than what we have now, but timeshares are rarely a good investment. Would the BCS check be split between the schools from the winning conference or from all 25 or so teams that are in both conferences.

It sucks that the two conferences have to do this.
Teams from the East Coast to Hawaii. It would be truly a Conference that covers the USA.

It would be a superconference.

Better national exposure for all the teams and if it gets a BCS spot, even basically split, we need to try and get it done.

MB, quick question.

In that picture in your Sig, in the 1980 pic, is that Brian Mackin on the end. I know he played baseball and that does resemble him.

That's not at all what it would be.
This is actually a good thing. The TV money will increase along with a possible BCS birth.

Although they will not combine to form one single conference, some inter-conference scheduling will go on particularly in basketball to help RPIs of both leagues. There is also talk of setting up some football match ups. I dare say I would rather see some MWC teams on the basketball schedule instead of some of the teams we end up with.
I am curious too how the revenue sharing would work. Until or unless we're invited to another conference, I think this is likely a good move. If the Big XII had fallen apart, it would have been good to try to pull in Baylor, Kansas, etc. But now that doesn't appear to be an option. It would have also been good to reunite with some of the old CUSA schools (Louisville, TCU, USF, Cincy, etc) with the current CUSA. That would be a strong 16-team league with multiple rivalry potential. Could be solid enough to potentially make a push for AQ status. But again, I don't think that looks likely at the moment either.

Wouldn't that depend on the deal? Wouldn't you rather share $60 evenly with a friend than to earn $25 yourself?

Wouldn't you also rather have 1/22 or 1/24 of a BCS payout than no BCS payout at all?
They are certainly not doing it for less money. Unless we are invited to a BCS league tomorrow this is the best deal for UAB.
