First let me say not picking on FIU but best example. I know your pain, hypothetical if you won the rest of your games wow great 11-1 season. But what does that yield in the belt? Nothing if your not in the top 12 in the country your stuck with the New Orleans or Danica Patrick bowl.

Look at my Trojans (1-2) For use to salvage this season we have to beat 8 conference teams and UAB or Navy. And all that still would get us is a No Bowl again. A conference championship would forever eliminate not having anything to play for. You season goal is to win your division then play for the championship no ties.

If the best thing that two teams bring to the conference is an end to hurt feelings and stupid bickering over shared championship than we have no business even discussing expansion. If we expand to twelve, it has to be because they make the conference better, not just because it eliminates co-championships.
The only reason to go to 12 is to improve finances by reducing travel costs. Co-champs, Tri-champs, Quad-champs, Quint-champs, don't care.
