BE games:

*Cincinnati 27 Eastern Michigan 19
*Connecticut 39 Buffalo 6
Louisville 31 *Kentucky 10
Notre Dame 23 *Pittsburgh 20
*Penn State 19 South Florida 15
Rutgers 26 *Illinois 20
West Virginia 20 *Syracuse 13
of course i would like SU to beat WVU but as a fan of wanting whats best for the league as a whole i would much rather pitt win and rutgers lose. We all need Louisville and Pitt to excel.

I hate Pitt, but I agree that them winning helps the BE. I just don't understand how Rutgers losing helps the BigEast.

IMO, RUTGERS NEEDS to win this game for a BE mid-tier(but moving up) team to gain national respect.

Rutgers will win. These guys are a joke no more(or until next year).

I (and I think many others) will go out of my way to see this game....and that clearly shows the program is going in the right direction.
Actually I think that South Florida could do the most for us this week if they can upset Penn State. At least image wise.
Is Harmon going by history when calculating the ND-Pitt game? Pitt won at South Bend last year and return many of those starters as they play at Heinz this time around...
Yeah I was caught off guard by the Notre Dame pick as well....I just can't see the Irish winning at Heinz Field this yr with all the players Pitt has coming back

-- I think the Illinois game is really big for Rutgers...they win that one and they have a pretty good shot at a bowl..if they lose it a "here we go again" attitude may befall the team like after last yrs loss to New Hampshire

Jackson
Does Zook have ANYTHING in that cupboard for this season? Illinois was 3-8 last season with only one Big Ten victory. Why are they suddenly a team that could even HOPE to beat Rutgers? I would think the spread should be bigger than that.

I think Pitt defeats ND
Illini defeats Rutgers

USF @ Penn State is gonna be tough for USF, but Possible
This really sux...all we can do is speculate for about another month...at least we have preseason nfl football
Cincy 31 :)
EMU 21

U Conn 35 :)
Buffalo 21

UofL 49 04-rock
UK 17

Pitt 31 :)
ND 14

PSU 17 :frown:
USF 14

Illinois 28 :frown:
Rutgers 17

WVU 35 :)
Syr 21

If USF has even a pulse at offense they can beat PSU.
I certainly want to see all the teams off to a good start (I'll take a coin flip for the WVA-Cuse game). A good OOC record by all teams will definitely make for more interesting in-conference games and lots of national recognition.
I'm not going to speculate on scores since I just don't like doing it but I think these are the results:
Cincinnati def. E. Michigan
WVU def. Syracuse
Rutgers def. Illinois (Especially after their punk QB's comment on us having no chance way to nail his own coffin shut. And way to go Zook on teaching your players what not to say to the media. Their unjustified arrogance if nothing else will be their downfall.)
USF def. PSU (I'm going out on limb but I think USF is going to prove how far they've risen and how far State Penn has fallen.)
Pitt def. ND (I love Charlie Weiss as I'm a big PATS fan, but lets be realistic Pitt can beat them in South Bend the more experienced version of that squad should wipe the floor with them in Pittsburgh)
UL def. UK
UConn def. Buffalo

Yes I'm predicting that the Big East goes 6-0 out of conference that weekend, but is there really any reason to believe otherwise.

As a Mountaineer, knowing the difficulty of playing in the Dome, I am nervous about this game. I think it is a toss-up at best and perhaps the toughest BE game the Mounties have as the UofL and Pitt are at home. On top of playing on the road against Syracuse, we will be baptising a new QB.

This should be a great game. SU's offense will probably struggle since it's their first game in the post run, run, throw incomplet and attempt to punt Pasqualoni era. The "D" however should be rock solid with 9 returning starters and an NFL caliber coach running the show. West Virginia is always tough. I would call this a "pick em" game.
