Its a private college. Private colleges make their students sign pledges all the time. If you dont the pledge, dont go there.

Not a fan of pledges my self. I am surprised this would pop up at Harvard. I would expect it more at an ultra liberal school like UNC. I guess I know nothing about Harvard.

That's a non-sequitur

They can do it if they want. Our school had something similar (like the pillars of community or some BS like that). Problem I see is its counter to the idea of universities being open sources for ANY dialogue.

If I had a magic wand I would all incoming Ivy Leaguers report to Ft. Benning for a year.
